At the end of the First Half of the matches (8 votes processed), the better players of the 3rd Round, were seeing in both matches of the Group 1, one of those scoring a brace. Another fast striker scored twice in a Group 3 game.

Both matches in the Group 1, has been among the most entertaining games so far

One defender in the Group 1 was verbally caution by the referee. Also another defender in a Group 2 match.

Great work with all this msioux, and running the draft and tournament.

Will you still show the full breakdown for the 3rd set of games, like with the first two sets? I can see some things already of course, like Cruyff had 5 MOTM votes....

Appropriate in this draft that the team of the Group Stage can be shown in a WM system! Nobody has used it yet for a line-up though if I remember correctly, have they? Would be cool, but brave, if someone did in the knockout stage!

    Thanks,

Just like, all Ideal teams, I tried to put together the best performers, having a bit of balanced (Gullit as utility player, even he played more offensive in the draft).

My other options, were include Nasazzi (3) as Right Back in a back-4 or place Xavi (4) as deep lying playmaker. With the exclusion of Gullit.

The better proper RB in the tournament was JL.Andrade (2), even he was used in a more defensive approach than he used to play. There were 5 other options as CM, but with 3 points.

These were the full results of the R3.

I hope, the reports makes sense now, since, some voted for Cubillas FK goal, but Romario get 11 votes, vs Cubillas-2, and only 1 goal was given to his team

The same with Rensenbrink, with someone voting for a PK, but he have 2 votes vs Nordhal-7, so both goals from his team were given to Nordhal. I thought in making a GK save, but, the only vote was for his own keeper. So, against all odds, Rob missed the PK.

More and less, I tried the reports, reflects the better performers, strong connections and weaker lines (warnings).

hahaha, make the reports is the hardest part.

I planned to kept the table for calculations only, but no problem with post them for accountability.

All Quarter finals matches were posted. But, I guess some managers want to make some small precisions.

Anyway, everyone can vote today or wait until tomorrow.

These were the full results of the Quarter Finals. The only change could be if some of the keepers had a memorable performance in the Penalty Shootouts

Seems like there will be more penalty shoot-outs than in Italia 90!

I haven't read the reports yet so I'll go and see the details now: I'm particularly interested in how msioux sorted things out for wm vs OT_Capitano - whether Shevchenko's shot was on it's way in but Maradona hand-balled it over the line anyway and was awarded the goal, or whether Shevchenko just had a Geoff Hurst-esque 'goal' ruled out by VAR and moments later Maradona went on a solo run and scored to take the goal and a couple of MOTM votes (I'm guessing those MOTM votes decided who scored anyway, understandably)! Also how Souness managed to stay on the pitch: I can imagine he was standing behind the referee's shoulder glaring at him as he checked the VAR reply for serious foul play, leading the referee to say "erm, cough, ......not even a yellow - we'll start again with a drop ball!".

Rensenbrink never missed an official PK in his whole career, and he missed one in this game. And, I can only imagine Passarella's reaction after Resenbrink's miss, since he had been the one assigned to be the penalty kick taker, and Rob somehow took it from him.

I like the hand-ball goal or the Hurst esque goal, too. Also, see something about Souness in the reports (even other players got 2 Red-votes in Group Phase).

Anyways, I think the reporter was so involucred in the penalties that wrote his reports very fast :)
