    Updated Rules for tournament

    Matches
Group Phase - 3 matches for each team
KO stage - 1 match for QF / 2 for SF / 3 for finalists.

    Lineups
Each team will be a free choice of the managers, the only limitation is not lineup the same 11 players two times, in all the way to the Final.

No ban rules - only suspended players
No eras rules - No needed to lineup the amateur player each match
    No substitutions in the 90'.

For each group a "special referee" was assigned to help receiving teams for each match and post them when having both teams. So, it will be no advantadge to see your rival lineup first.

    Votes
For results, it will be required a Personal Message to me and the Group Referee, indicating:
    - Result of each match, excluding your own group (both matches).
    - Goalscorers
    - Man of the Match
    - 1 player red carded, 2 players yellow carded, by team. If you wanted (taked as maximum warnings by team).
    - For the initial match, you have free use of your squad.

This is an example of the votes (adding warnings in this draft)

    Results
1st, Will be calculating the results according to a table averaging up to 12 votes (excluding 4 of your own group).
An example of the table for the result calculation. I'll made another for 12 votes.

2nd, Having the result. goalscorers and MotM will be calculated, rounded up the values, in case of draw, the most defensive role, will gets the nod.

3rd, Red cards, will be given only if the player get 50% of the votes.

4th, Yellow cards, will be given only if the player get 33% of the votes.

5th, Two yellows = 1 suspension the next match. Same with Red.

6th, every player can be suspended just for 1 time. In the Final match, all the warnings will be canceled in order to have the best of the squads.

I hope, this process takes no more than 1 week for round, Each group is independently of one another, and some groups could go faster than others.

The only work required for managers in each round is:
    - Send your team to the Referee and me.
    - Send your votes

In order to get things, well organized, there will be only 1 Conversation for Manager, including him, the referee and me.

In this Conversation, each manager can send:
    - Lineup for his match, in each round
    - Votes for all matches, excluding his own group, in each round

I can see my own, but will attach it from my computer now in case you and others don't see it still.

@msioux75 I don't see @poetgooner's either though. Maybe one of you can try saving it to computer and attaching the file here too (which I might do for Group 2 from now on instead of simply copying and pasting the quotes from the conversation because it seems thebigman's team was not viewable for some people when I did it that way).

    vs PDG.png

    General Strategy:
Defense: Deep defense with front three left up top to press and ready to counter-attack
Transition: Fast-pace direct passing to the front three, and give them the freedom to combine for quick counter-attacking moves
Attack: Spine plays conservatively, with Charlton and Moreno offering some support. Target opponent's fullbacks with forward runs from Carlos and Kaltz.

    Sastre:

The multifunctional. The man of the entire court and all functions. The illustrious ancestor of Alfredo Di Stéfano and Johan Cruyff. The creator of total soccer in Argentina. Not the only one, because in his time Carlitos Peucelle, another fabulous man-orchestra, as they were called in the thirties, also played. "Cuila" was a forward, midfielder, defender and even played twice as a goalkeeper. I also saw him as a half-right - today's four - in the '37 South American. It was up to him to mark the famous Brazilian left couple that Tim and Patesko were part of. It totally canceled them. With so much quality that he took the ball from them, he dribbled them and delivered it safely, meekly.

With his unspoken leadership, he was in charge of pulling the strings of the team, setting the pace with his runs and adding pause with his prawns. He also became a villain when he was appointed to mark the rival figure.

With the Tricolor he was the São Paulo champion in 1943, 1945 and 1946, and runner-up in 1944 (the title was in the hands of Palmeiras). His football was the seed that later sprouted in the soil of Brazil, to turn it into the land of the beautiful game. "The Argentines want to copy the Brazilians, but they forget that an Argentine came to Brazil twenty years ago to teach us soccer. His name was Antonio Sastre, ”coach Osvaldo Brandao told Juvenal, a journalist for El Gráfico, in 1967.

He is one of the most versatile players in the history of football. Except for the goal, he occupied any demarcation on the field of play and always complied with note.
Considered one of the best Yugoslav footballers of all time, he also triumphed on the bench for almost two decades. Born on May 17, 1929 in Zagreb (Croatia), his ideal position was that of a left-hander, although he played as a libero, central defender, defensive midfielder, winger or striker. Agile, resistant, fibrous player with great reaction speed. Very smart, he read the game perfectly and was a leader on the pitch.

    Striker

    Sárosi
    351
    goals in 383 games

He could play in all the central positions of the field, that is, as a defense, midfielder and striker. He was very tall for the time (1.86 m tall) and had a privileged physique and a lot of strength, essential characteristics to play in defense. In the rear guard, he used his physique to win the strikers' melee, but also intelligence and good positioning to easily anticipate and steal the balls. He had a lot of class with the ball at his feet, with which he could get the ball played with great elegance. He had a great vision of the game, with which he distributed clearly and gave assists easily, characteristics that together with his physique and defensive qualities, allowed him to play without problems in midfield. But where he excelled best was up front. Playing as a center forward, he played at his whim, dribbling the defenders with ease and speed and embedding himself behind for head shots, a facet in which he was a true specialist, given his height, dominating both defensive and offensive aerial play . He left and entered the area with great ease, creating chaos between rivals and the same gave assists to his teammates, who scored a goal without messing up. And it is that Sarosi had a spectacular nose for goals, being a machine to drill nets. Due to all these virtues he was nicknamed the "Doctor". Everything he did, he did well and with the patience and precision of a surgeon. He also served as captain, both in Ferencvaros and in the Hungarian team, due to his temperance, hierarchy and leadership. A sensational footballer.

    Tactical adjustments after seeing Sammer's Hammer's line-up:

    - The midfielders Neeskens and Ardiles will probably tend to concentrate a bit more on what Hagi is doing and trying to close his space rather than Eusebio's, because Eusebio shouldn't be dropping deep a whole lot anyway, with no fellow attacker up front alongside him and Van Dijk can also afford to follow him a bit further if and when he does. When there is an opportunity to close him down though then they certainly still will (ideally the other one will keep tabs on Hagi still while it happens).

    - Our wing-backs will indeed probably end up being slightly more cautious and playing from slightly deeper in general, but with similar tactics still.

    - Cruyff will run with the ball a little more than previously advised probably, and will be enthusiastic about doing it when Keane is in his company, due to Keane's reluctance presumably to get another yellow card and/or the probability he'll get another one or two if he takes an aggressive approach against Cruyff. Still though, he is to play using all his creativity, vision and efficient use of the ball, not to hog possession - it's just that he's encouraged to run with the ball when it's a good option.

    - It's suggested to Weah that he pull right slightly more than left in this game, because then he can be one on one with Blanc around or in the area, while Cruyff can have a run into the area occupied by Santamaria, and again look to use his dribbling ability in the inside left channel (as discussed a bit initially anyway in my first write-up). As stated though, Kopa and Cruyff will be freely playing and dribbling/probing all over the attacking midfield area including on the wings (Kopa more to the right and Cruyff more to the left in general though).

I think you might need to save the image of poetgooner's line-up to your computer msioux and then upload file in your post, rather than copying and pasting or quoting directly from the conversation.

I don't see his team at the moment, so I guess it is the same reason why ASF didn't see mine. I remember for the first games I posted in Group 2 some people didn't see the line-ups, but for the latest games I did save the line-ups to my computer and upload the files in my posts, and it seems like people can see them as nobody said they can't.

My idea for the change is a simple one. Diez has a highly mobile front 4, so I want the running-power of Kante who should do a better job than Varela in this instance.
