The only thing that has happened in the USA that I remember was when BYU could not play on Sunday so they changed theyr NCAA tournament game to a Saturday.

I am pretty sure that Iranian players will not fast. Not a single one of them. I don't know if Moroccans will be fasting though. I don't think of it as an issue, at least not for Iran. The thing is Iranian players don't want to fast, and if they wanted, Queiroz wouldn't let them! All of them will lie and say they fast, though.

Italy... for essentially their entire existence has been played defensive/counter attack soccer. As far as i can recall, Italy is a super power historically

When Italy won their most recent World Cups they found a way to attack and not bunker though.
There is a difference between being fundametally sound defensively and bunkering with 11 men in your half most of the matches.

I don't see Boufal listed in the roster. While I had mentioned that I wasn't sure if Boufal would even make Morocco's final roster, it is surprising that Morocco seems to have opted to pick fewer than the 35 players allowed for it to name for its provisional roster.

Speaking for myself, I don't root against Portugal. I root for Iran and if our chances are helped by Portugal doing poorly or well in any given match, I would root for whatever helps our chances.

Even if Portugal weren't in Iran's group, Portugal wouldn't be a team I would be particularly rooting for or against. It would depend how they play? If they played well enough to deserve a result, all other things being equal, I would root for them to get what they deserve and vice versa.

As for Ronaldo, other than his classless comments after the Iceland match, I have usually been focused on his play and not what he has to say or anything else about him.

A preview of what is in store for Morrocan players next month. Mbark Boussoufa and his club get owned and humbled by Iran’s vice-captain in Iran.

You want to debate the merits and drawbacks of players fasting? Have at it. But a general reminder to everyone that this is not the place for debating the intersection of religion and football.

And remember, you support a club that changes its kit for an entire month for religious reasons.

It doesn't affect performance though, but sure, I get your point. Was just surprised professional players are willing to risk their performance in the biggest tournament in their lives. But I'll stop.

Back in february Renard said that he has already his team for the world cup apart from two or three players.
Boufal didn't use his chance against Uzbekistan. He lacks discipline.
But I prefere Elhaddad to Carcela. Unfortunately Azarou is injured and will miss the world cup.

Great logic. Btw Renato Augusto's Beinjin Guoan didn't even make it to the AFC Champions League this year so that must mean that Iran will own and humble Brazil too.

whoever wants to have actual fun on here during the world cup instead of having paul calixte ruin the fun by giving yellow cards for members not hugging each other and singing koombaya, come here and sign the petition:

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/remove-paul-calixte-as-group-b-mod.2083531/

do it before he removes it. apparenly he banned @Nani_17 from this forum. we are enemies for the world cup but it was just friendly banter and i prefer a guy like that to be on here and posting because it is more fun that way. he said nothing bad. this is ridiculous. this place will be so boring imagine after a game if a member is pissed at losing or something he will suddenly be banned. we will all be banned.

Well, Morocco national team player Mbark Boussoufa did quality to and play at the AFC Champions League, and Persepolis players like Ahmadzadeh or Mahini who wouldn’t even make it to Iran’s B team, were running circles around him in the midfield nonstop for 180 minutes, owning him left and right.

I also find it very amusing that somehow in your own subconcious, you actually equate Morroco with Brazil and Boussoufa with Renato Augusto.

careful man, paul calixte will give you a yellow for that post. apparently light friendly soccer related banter results in a yellow these days lmao. nani_17 even got forum banned.

From what I remember, Paul Calixte himself had said that some friendly football-related banter was allowed. But if my post about Bousouffa and my observations of him as an overrated overpaid player, crossed any lines, feel free to delete it.

I wasn’t referring to the score line, but rather the way they were outplayed for 180 minutes yet somehow managed to stay in the game and the dramatic fashion in which they eventually lost at the end, in injury time.
