Bilello was asked about this last night, and they'll probably be doing the same. We are still waiting for MLS as well as State (which will take precedence) guidelines. That being said our expectations are that our capacity numbers will likely be similar to the Pats. We will communicate with fans once we have the guidelines. https://t.co/NVKIDeBbD3— Brian Bilello (@RevsPrez) July 14, 2020
Just for fun, flashback to a outright goal-fest -- One of my favorite all-time Revs goals - watch from 4:15 mark - https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/m...gland-revolution-vs-seattle-sounders-fc/recap

With MLB's impending Covid crisis looming, what are the thought on non-bubble (or even in-bubble) sports for the rest of the Summer/Fall, particularly as pertains to MLS? The jury is still out on the bubble sports (notwithstanding Lou Williams' visit to a strip club "to pick up wings"), but I don't see how MLS or the NFL will make this work outside a bubble. Had all those Miami Marlins been sweating and breathing on their opponents in a contact sport, the Phillies would definitely be facing a breakout of their own (they may still, even with minimal interaction). My personal opinion is that player safety overrules any other factor, so I would just as soon see no sports until there's a vaccine (or play in a bubble in Europe where the virus is comparatively under control). Every sport will have an asterisk on this season, anyway, so the value of winning is diminished.
I think it's possible in areas where the stats are low - I don't think it will work if teams are coming/going from places like Florida and Texas right now.
Random stat of the day: No MLS coach has won the double (MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield) with the same team more than once. Only 5 teams have won the double (DCU x2, KC, LAG x2, CMB, TOR). Only 5 coaches have won it (Arena x2, Rongen, Gansler, Schmid x2, Ganney) Both Arena (DCU, LAG) and Schmid (LAG, CMB) did it with different teams.
This long layoff is at least good for allowing time for Gil to heal. I know he has a foot injury - if it's his heel, then there is time for Gil to heal his heel.
In all seriousness, I'm very concerned about this injury. It was an issue in preseason, he didn't play in the pre-shutdown games, and then there was a layoff of I don't even remember how long because I've lost all sense of time. If those months of nothing didn't heal it, what's two-three weeks going to do? I keep dreading the release of news that he's out for an extended period or needs surgery or something. He is literally irreplaceable. They do not play the same without him, they have no one who comes close to replicating his capabilities, everyone else gets worse/moves out of their comfort zone when he's not on the field, and opponents smell blood and capitalize on his absence.
Fair points, but I think that they will need a few games without him to find their rhythm -- he's definitely the center of the offense, so it's certainly a blow, but there's too much talent (especially compared with past teams) for me to think the scoring malaise will continue. Of course, once the offense clicks, we'll start bleeding goals [Roseanne Rossannadanna]If it's not one thing it's another[/Roseanne Rossannadanna]
So I'm not sure if anybody would be interested in knowing this, but I've taken advantage of this downtime and compiled what would best be described as an anthology book about the entirety of the Revs existence. It starts with the awarding of the 1994 World Cup to the USA and proceeds up to present day. It is currently about 250,000 words long. I'm just re-reading and editing it now, and I am really not sure what if anything I am going to do with it. But I can't begin to describe how rewarding an experience it has been as a Revs fan getting to rediscover everything about this team from before it had a name up to now (even all the parts that piss me off) as well as being highly therapeutic in a very stressful time.
Totally agree that if any Revs team is able to figure out how to be successful in this situation, it will be this one. Gil has just been so good, and the difference in their play at MLS is Back when he was on field vs. off field was stark.
I must not predict the future. I must not predict the future. I must not predict the future. I MUST NOT PREDICT THE FUTURE!!! Damn you, 2020!!!!!!!!
If you must predict the future, next time please channel your inner Bob Ross and think happy thoughts! On the bright side (if there is a bright side), the surgery was a cleaning operation, so the recovery should put him back to 100% without lingering problems. Another bright side happy thought, we are over halfway thru 2020!!
If these guys all did yoga, they wouldn't be having achilles problems (not to mention calf tears, plantar fasciitis, hamstring strains, etc.). Once I started, I never had any of those again. More down dogs.

While the debate continues re: whether Buska, or the team around him, is responsible for the lack of goals - just for fun, here's some of the other the golden oldies in the "Is [Insert The Next Bust Name Here] Another Bust" series of threads. Every time lately that the Pats have place-kicking trouble, the whole Knighton "I'm ready" story kicks up. Makes me wonder if the Pats are even aware that he's available/interested. I know his kicks are just off a tee, with no rushed snap, no defensive pressure, etc., but the fact that he's a professional goalkeeper means that he's no stranger to pressure - and having to react in an instant. And, please, no Carli Lloyd talk - there's no way she'd be quick enough in the run-up, no matter how well she can strike a ball.
I don't want to see Carli try kicking in the NFL. How many linemen would gladly take the 15 yards to pummel her into the ground? No thanks, I like Carli.
Hey, why not? Former FC Dallas keeper Josh Lambo has been kicking in the NFL for six years now, currently for Jacksonville.
In January of 2013, the Revs held the #4 pick in the SuperDraft. They traded up with Toronto to get the #1 pick, which they used on Andrew Farrell. The #4 pick (which TOR subsequently traded to VAN) was used on: Kekutah Manneh.
I'm just wondering, because the story has surface a few times now, but there's not a shred to indicate whether the Pats have ever looked at him or even considered trying him out - and you'd think it would be simple to have a special teams intern/assistant watch him strike a few balls to see if it's worth pursuing. I'm disappointed that he hasn't gotten any significant time yet.
Maybe they did, and they decided it wasn't a good match. Anyone remember when Tony "You can't spell 'Meola' without M-E-A-L" kicked for the Jets in a couple pf pre-season games? It's different and requires different skills. It's like when some Internet Idiot would claim that a random NFL running back could wipe the floor with everyone if he played rugby. So I axed him which Rugby he was talking about, Rugby League or Rugby Union, and he was like the troll guarding the bridge in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Hartford Athletic with probably the strangest game-winning goal I have ever seen: This is, by my reckoning, going to be the weirdest goal of the season. And it might keep @hfdathletic in with a chance at first place in Group F. #PHIvHFD pic.twitter.com/zEn3Z16Ge8— Nicholas Murray (@NJEMurray) October 1, 2020
