He needs to wok with Ozil and interchanging with Ozil, I am worrying about his form, hope Ozil can rekindle his form
I agree we are probably done with it here Anyone is welcome to create a continuation thread! I am out
I still firmly believe that in 2016 the injuries exposed the errors in Jogi's team selection. Stindl, if not Kruse, should've had a spot in that team up front. Then, even with Gomez's injury, we wouldn't have become as feckless as we were with the ineffectual Müller & Schurrle. A similar story was true of taking Can, who the french isolated on the ball and took advantage of, instead of Dahoud, who had broken out that year. Sure Dahoud was inexperienced, but if we could have turned to him in our moment of need instead of Can, we wouldn't have conceded those goals to france that came from our sloppy possession play. That's why I don't care as much about experience, if a kid is a better player than the vets he's competing with for a spot.
So this thread is trucking along and I am reluctant to be a downer on posting as this is the most activity here in a long time But I can also appreciate some posters just want to focus on football So I will move posts to a new thread for the team politics
Here is a new thread for the Ozil & Dawg scandal Some posters would prefer to talk football so let's respect that https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/team-politics-merkel-ozil-raus.2084131/
Speaking of football, am I the only who'd be curious to see how we looked in a 4-3-1-2 against the bigger teams? Werner - Müller Özil Ilkay* - LeGo* Kroos Hector - Mats - Boa - Kimmich *Sami
I'm not worried about the group stage. I'd more worried about what happens in the Quarterfinal where we could face either England or Belgium.
Germany line up Russia2018 Nuer Hummels. Boetang Sule kimmich kroos. Hector Gundogan/ groetzka Muller. Werner. Ozil/reus
Both England and Belgium are very top heavy, by that I mean dangerous forwards but the defence is a major worry
I've basically have Germany playing a 3-4-3 system wich gives them balance and enough offensive power to see off every team bar maybe brazil
QF is usually were things get more interesting, unless by some weird turn of events we face Brazil in the R16. well if we can't beat Belgium or England than Germany doesn't deserve to be champs.
I realise that I tend to be pessimistic, but what worries me most is coming second in the group and facing Brasil in the second round. A lot will depend on the first game againts Mexico.
