I looked through what I think were all the Serie D divisions today, and couldn't find anything that looked like Senora. Could be an outdated list... Who knows. I'll keep looking.

    It's not Serie D

If it does exist, it would be in the Eccelenza, which is technically amateur/semi-pro.

They have just gotten the team name wrong though...the closest that I know of to "senora" is Sora

I've learned not to trust amany small-time US news sources when they talk about an American soccer player overseas. I feel like any name remotely close to Senora is game for this.

I mean, really, "The athlete who believes he will play in the back or at defensive midfielder for Senora will probably start with the club's D, or lowest level, team. But he expects to move up to B or C, "they say in a few months." The Italian Series A, however, is still essentially closed to Americans. "

But saying that, Siena is truly a very longshot for someone that didn't even play D1 and who I'd have to guess couldn't be young enough to be in the academy. Maybe a personal connection could only get him there.

Another clue - the article claims the club is located in "suburban Florence". Still not ringing any bells, tree? (and could you imagine if somebody actually WERE referring to Siena as "suburban Florence"?! :D ).

    nope...still no clue...

That would be funny though if they were in fact referring to Siena as "suburban Florence" seeing as it's like 100 KM away...

Verona. Senora. We're definitely reaching with this name! :) Verona is in Serie B. Bet the person who wrote the article had no idea so many people cared whether they got the name of the club just right.

Hell, he couldn't even figure out that this kid can't just move up from Serie D to Serie C to Serie B after he gets his fitness straight and practices some.

    Dude serie D is lowwww.

Between B and D, there are actually two levels. C1 and C2. It's like 5th division.

I am sure serie D exist. From playing CM, I know there is a team in serie D called "Gladiator" :D

Sure Serie D exists...the question is where is this "Senora" team?

Senora is not in Serie D...so either the article screwed up the team's name, or the team is LOWER than serie D - the Eccenlenza

The writer says Senora FC is located in Prato and that the player arrives there next month. Still looking.

    I'll check too.

Prato would I suppose be considered "Suburban Florence". It's about 30 minutes from here by autostrada...

I'm willing to bet this is Eccelenza...not even serie D
