If the people in your group want to send me their line-ups that is fine by me. That would be yourself (if necessary or preferable for you to do it), @thebigman , @Perú FC and @Excape Goat

I can send mine to you.

(For the group stage anyway - we will see what happens after that I guess).

Is it up to two times for the group stage, or all the way to the final?

Very soon, I'll be opening the Threads for each group.

Thanks to the Tournament Commitee, who will receive the lineups and will post them for each round in the Group Phase. This way, nobody will have advantadge to see rival's team first.

    Group 1 - @msioux75
    Group 2 - @PDG1978
    Group 3 - @Perú FC
    Group 4 - @Diez

Awesome! So, we have to decide if we want to use our best lineup to try to win the group, or trust our backups and save our best for the last stages, which we may or may not reach. :)

To be clear, does the amateur player have to appear in every match?

    Update Rules for tournament

    Matches
Group Phase - 3 matches for each team
KO stage - 1 match for QF / 2 for SF / 3 for finalists.

    Lineups
Each team will be a free choice of the managers, the only limitation is not lineup the same 11 players two times, in all the way to the Final.

No ban rules - only suspended players
No eras rules - No needed to lineup the amateur player each match
    No substitutions in the 90'.

For each group a "special referee" was assigned to help receiving teams for each match and post them when having both teams. So, it will be no advantadge to see your rival lineup first.

    Votes
For results, it will be required a Personal Message to me and the Group Referee, indicating:
    - Result of each match, excluding your own group (both matches).
    - Goalscorers
    - Man of the Match
    - 1 player red carded, 2 players yellow carded, by team. If you wanted (taked as maximum warnings by team).
    - For the initial match, you have free use of your squad.

This is an example of the votes (adding warnings in this draft)

    Results
1st, Will be calculating the results according to a table averaging up to 12 votes (excluding 4 of your own group).
An example of the table for the result calculation. I'll made another for 12 votes.

2nd, Having the result. goalscorers and MotM will be calculated, rounded up the values, in case of draw, the most defensive role, will gets the nod.

3rd, Red cards, will be given only if the player get 50% of the votes.

4th, Yellow cards, will be given only if the player get 33% of the votes.

5th, Two yellows = 1 suspension the next match. Same with Red.

6th, every player can be suspended just for 1 time. In the Final match, all the warnings will be canceled in order to have the best of the squads.

I hope, this process takes no more than 1 week for round, Each group is independently of one another, and some groups could go faster than others.

The only work required for managers in each round is:
    - Send your team to the Referee and me.
    - Send your votes

In order to get things, well organized, there will be only 1 Conversation for Manager, including him, the referee and me.

In this Conversation, each manager can send:
    - Lineup for each round
    - Votes for each round

For people in your group I guess I should open one conversation with each of you (but that you would not be part of any other conversation apart from your own)?

I guess I should I receive the votes for your group too (not just the line-ups)?

    Yeah, It would be better.
I can make calculations from the votes, if you send to me, the resume of the round, to don't give you too much work.

Yes, I can send you the votes when you tell me that you have all the others if you like.

I guess we could have 3 conversations between you and me (one for you to send your line-ups/votes to me, one for me to send to you, and one for me to send the votes for the games in your group), but let me know if you prefer we just have 1 overall 'Era draft' conversation that one of us would open soon when we have a team line-up ready!

I'm not sure if @msioux75 saw this or not, but anyway I know that the answer is no mate, they don't need to play every game (or any game necessarily).

Oh, here we go - yes he did see it (or at least answered within the instructions after your post)....

    He said this himself:
"No eras rules - No needed to lineup the amateur player each match"
(in the updated rules for tournament a few posts up from this one).

Probably you already noticed it @thebigman , but I might as well leave my answer up too just in case.

Considering 12 votes, this will be the table to calculate the results, taking as reference the first named team:
    ---W----------D--------L
    [IMG]
So, the probability are equal for Win = Draw = Loss

In case of less/more than 12 votes, the result will be the closer to one of these.

As I said, in the rules, once I get the results, to give a score, will be applied:
    - Average goals by votes
    - Round up fractions rule between the votes

Same for goalscorers. With the exception that braces will be given when X player gets near enough double goals than Y player in the votes.

Got the message from our ref. When is the deadline for turning in the lineup and strategy for the first group match?

    Just one thing,

After both teams for each round will be posted, managers can make comments, how its strategy will be aplied.

In order, to get things simple, will be allowed, just a little variations on the System posted:
    - a defensive/offensive approach as unit.
    - a specific task assigned to X player, close to the role in the system

(for example, if I lineup van Hanegem as CM, I can't change him to DM. It only will be allow a bit more defensive minded play in his CM role).
    - Versatility in the tactics will be allow in the initial post of the formation (try to be simple or make a couple of tactics, at most, to don't confuse managers when voting)
