https://theprideoflondon.com/2022/06/23/chelsea-women-preseason-united-states/ The Chelsea Women and their preseason in the United States Before the season begins, the Chelsea Women will be heading to Portland, Oregon to take on some of the best clubs in the entire world. The Women’s International Champions Cup (WICC) has been around since 2018 with two NWSL clubs winning out of the three tournaments to date. This season’s competition will feature the defending champion and host, Portland Thorns. The Thorns will be accompanied by the defending Champions League winner, Olympique Lyonnais, and the Torneo Grita Mexico Apertura 2021 winner, C.F. Monterrey. This is just an example of the aspirations of the women’s team next season. Playing against the best of the best before the Women’s Super League season even kicks off will only help the Blues become even better prepared when the Champions League rolls around. Given the first two signings of the summer and the fact that the Blues will be competing in the WICC, the new ownership and Hayes are doing everything they can to prepare this team for any obstacles that might be thrown their way. The Portland Thorns combine a veteran defense with an explosive offense with one of the best young strikers in the game today, Sophia Smith. Smith and Canadian legend Christine Sinclair—along with 24-year-old Morgan Weaver—present the Blues with an attack that they do not see on a regular basis in the WSL. Portland has allowed the second-fewest goals in the NWSL this season and it will face off against Chelsea with a sturdy defense, led by USWNT centerback Becky Sauerbrunn. The Thorns’ back line will give the Blues a much-needed preseason test. Putting seven goals by Leicester City on a given WSL matchday does not benefit Chelsea all that much. But, challenging itself for a run back to the Champions League final equips the team with the knowledge of a plethora of looks that it might not see from a WSL opponent on a week-to-week basis.

I like Philippines' idea of an Euro-tour: inter-confederational clashes are always at a premium in women's football!
Morocco 0 - 0 Ivory Coast Extremaly substandard officiating led to very dangerous and unhealthy situations in this match. AWCON's starting next week and Morocco already lost one player to injury from opponent bad tackle in previous game but yesterday they were close to losing another three players for the same reason and it all could've been avoided if ref was on the level. Ivory Coast shoud end this game with 9 if not 8 players. We've got The Netherlands v. England today/tonight. Gotta see if it will be streamed/broadcast anywhere in the U,S.!
I'm watching Denmark-Brazil now. Very good attendance in Copenhagen (+20k) and the Danes are ahead 1-0 at half time. Janni Thomsen with a beautiful shot in the top corner. Both teams have wasted some big chances. I'll be surprised if we don't get any goals in the second half. Debinha looks determined to score in this game. Good to see Lene Christensen back in goal for Denmark. I thought she would miss the Euros after she limped off the field in tears for Rosenborg last week.
Denmark 2 - 1 Brazil Thomsen 17, Gejl 90+1 --- Debinha 87 Highly entertaining game. Denmark look pretty strong. Nadia Nadim came in from the bench and provided a fine assist to Mille Gejl in stoppage time to set Parken alight again after Debinhas late party spoiling equalizer.
Serbia 0 - 5 Japan Ueki 28', Naomoto 62', Miyazawa 76', Chiba 81', Narumiya 88' Very one sided match. Japan had Serbia chase the ball a lot in 1st half and in 2nd the hosts run out of gas after 15 mins.
And Wiki got it from DFB! https://www.dfb.de/frauen-nationalm...66/2021-22/saison/deutschland-schweiz-2338137
Spain put 7 past Australia this morning the usual panic about firing TG ensues. Matildas defended the whole game, conceding just before half time before dropping 6 in the second half. More or less beaten off the pitch in every parameter of the game. Numerous starters rested for Australia, with Spain also having several starters out.
Sacking Gustavsson won't solve much. Australia needs fresh players and time, not new tactics. Unfortunatelly the transition came too late (before WWC) and the time is running short stilll.
At the beginning of the video its almost like a FIFA game for some reason. That it didn't look real for a moment. Could just be the blur or very pixelated background.
