OK, this may be a rather niche interest, but: Does anyone know if the official venue posters for the 2019 Women's World Cup are available anywhere? Or the official tournament poster? (Not the one with the logo, or the one with the mascot) I collect these, but can't find them anywhere. I'll be at the tournament this summer (SFs + final, in Lyon) and will look for them there, but if anyone knows anything about how to get them, I'd be super appreciative. Thanks!
For what it's worth, here is what the official poster looks like: https://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup...iled-for-fifa-women-s-world-cup-france-2019tm
... and here are the nine venue / host city posters: https://www.soccerbible.com/design/...osters-for-2019-womens-world-cup-host-cities/
I am sorry that I can't help you at all, but I always liked the concept of the city posters, since my infancy, when I was collecting the stickers of men's WC 1982 and the ones that were resonating more with my fantasy as a child were those of the posters of the single Spanish cities where the matches were scheduled (I can still remember most of these pictures and some were actually amazing by the point of view of the originality of the composition).
Yes, those Spain host city posters were great. I have all but two of them. In case you're feeling nostalgic ... http://www.ongoalsscored.com/2011/07/14/1982-world-cup-posters/
Wow, what a trip down memory lane!!! I remembered them all form the stickers, but I guess they have to be even better at poster-size!
I love the Nice and Lyon posters but, sadly, I think the Paris poster is terrible. What's with the variations of what looks like a little sea creature or somesuch? The main poster has some nice elements and a strong central image, but the figure looks a bit like a fashion model, no, with the full, red lips--which don't exactly connote 'athlete.' I might have toned down the lips a touch!
I had been impressed too by how powerful Lyon's image looks. But I also like some more abstract piece like Grenoble's one. I agree that Paris could have been better. Well, I guess the red lips were needed to better echo the tricolour of the French flag: without the emphasis on the lips, there wouldn't have been enough red to properly compose the blue-white-red of the national flag.
Not sure if it can be called pseudo-impressionism, but for sure the construction of the shape of the woman in that piece is very particular at it incorporates some of the different styles of the XX century's painting. Reims is funny instead, in its bold techno-psychedelia!
I was hoping for Panini album to have the stickers of the posters (as the men's edition from 1982 had), but instead, beyond the stickers with each stadium, they have "horizontal" stickers with the name of each city written in a similar style along with some little stylized sketched symbol.
