I'm sure it's not. Everybody who's anybody has one. Hillary, Obama, Bernie, all have one. Trump too. Even Kamala Harris. Capitalism could care less about the dangers of the cult of personality in politics.
Hey, I have a Benny Feilhaber bobble-head, so why not one for AOC? Except Benny's skin tone is just slightly lighter than a Hershey bar. Wait, shouldn't this go in the "Racism" thread?.
All I know is my Dwyane DeRosario has a broken neck, Bobby Convey has 2 broken ankles and the others are in hiding. Being a bobblehead doesn't seem like that great a reward.
1. The Hill is trash. 2. Anyone can have an action figure made. 3. This shit is a ********ing kickstarter campaign.
Poor suckerberg: .@AOC, the youngest and most social-savvy member of Congress, just made Mark Zuckerberg look like a deer in headlights. Watch her full series of questions below. pic.twitter.com/6qb105vUzp— Millennial Politics (@MillenPolitics) October 23, 2019
I read through a series of Republican voter comments about AOC. They were primarily not about her policies, but rather that she was an airhead. I came away believing that - a) They didn't know much about her b) They did know about her, but say the same thing about every young female with whom I disagree, or c) Both of the above My personal vote is for c), but perhaps I am wrong. At any rate, it is strange indeed to see Republican voters calling Democratic politicians inarticulate and poorly informed, given the state of today's GOP politicians. Kevin McCarthy, anyone?
It's simpler that that. You have a group of people who look at life through their stereotypes. You have a young, attractive female so she must be an airhead.
I think she's seen the movie The Social Network and did not like the seen where Zuckerberg is condescending to the young woman from Boston University, what with being a BU grad and all.
She's actually very good at making these guys squirm with very pointed questions. Of course, she asks in a very calm and civil way, so she's playing it right down the middle. No one can rightfully (but they will anyway) call her a "bitch" for the way she questions Zuck and many others. About as far from an "airhead" as you can get.
Meh, I saw some post on Instagram on just how 'Z smacked that B-word AOC' around. I did not click on the video, but the magic of new media, you can clip and edit anything you want.
People care way too much what other people say on Twitter/Facebook. You can find whatever reaction you are looking for pretty easily. It's completely pointless.
It’s a complete joke. When you are having a bad day, it’s at least refreshing to see how many angry, pathetic, and plain batshit crazy people there are out there. At least there is that.
FWIW, the only other person I saw making news around this testimony was Maxine Waters and she's no spring chicken. I think it's pretty telling that contrarian posters don't dispute her points from the Congressionl hearing testimony (that is in full in the embedded tweet), but pivot to the existance of contrarian videos that clip and edits things.
Ya think? This entire board is people mindlessly re-posting twitter posts they think are clever. Political debate on the P&CE board has been dying for a long time. Now it is officially dead.
Some of us are not twitter, so we are mindlessly posting things and agreeing to other mindless postings that we think are clever. I hope this helps. By the way, many of us are interested in political debate, but the debate has been beaten out of most of us.
Kinda like how we'd all have plenty of things to discuss for a World Cup final, but at this point, we're at the match and the stadium's on fire. The time for discussions regarding match strategy or the nuances of fire safety regulation have both run their course.
Well if there is one thing Chicago knows about it is fire safety and nuance, Cup football not so much. If you want to discuss match strategy come join us on the 'Atlanta United Is Cosmically Awesome' thread. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-discuss-aufcs-cosmic-domination-here-thread.2091047/
