Please limit hyperbole to metaphors that make sense in this dimension, not those only comprehensible in the realms inhabited by AUFC.
It's not just for us. Every accolade we receive helps the league's overall profile. Follow us. Help us... help YOU. We are American football.
I dunno ... I found the game borderline unwatchable. Plastic pitch, indoor soccer feel, too many strobe lights and that annoying train horn. Other than that, the organization is flawless. Blank, Martino, the players, the fans ... They deserved it.
That horn is Circe to South American talent. All of Cascadia plays on turf. NE plays on turf and yardlines. We get most of the stick about it, tho. I'd like grass myself, but it's not a dealbreaker to me. I won't make an argument about safety, but I will say that the day turf becomes as acceptable to players as grass, this talk should stop. It's a surface that can ultimately be laid more consistently than grass. I don't get the dome hate, either. The game is older than technology's ability to provide optimum and consistent playing conditions is all. Thanks!
sc = C That is, the quality of soccer (s) times the quality of the city (c) equals a constant (C). Elementary math.
Annnnnddd.... Atlanta has declined the option on Parkhurst. Looks like Columbus isn’t the only team to dump him as captain
Was out last night, but the match was on in the background while having dinner. Every time I watched it for a couple of minutes, Atlanta was on the attack. And when I saw the final score, I though of one thing...How many thread will Auria celebrate in?
You’re throwing shade at a guy retiring at the top. I wouldn’t be surprised if Berhalter hired him as an assistant coach for the national team.
The club isn't exercising the option but in a statement they've said they're negotiating with him to extend. So obviously the club is trying to not pay as much for a good locker room veteran who clearly is heading toward the end of his career. Overall, he's been a solid, if not spectacular, CB for us. But as importantly, by all accounts, he's a total professional and a good leader.
https://www.massivereport.com/2016/...al-michael-parkhurst-traded-to-atlanta-united The change of scenery did him well, point was he wasn't playing well when he was traded from Columbus.
If I recall, Columbus's defense had a lot bigger problems that year. I think Clark was one of the two worst keepers that year. And Parkhurst had no center back partner. This was before they signed Mensah. At the time I think they expected Gaston Sauro to be that guy, but he couldn't stay healthy. If I recall, I think that year they even had Tyson Wahl starting at center back for awhile, which is not a recipe for success.
You are correct. Clark was mentally unable to overcome his gaffe in the final and was really poor. Not bagging on Parkhurst, but he is on his 4th team on 12 years.
I'll let Auria have his week in the sun, especially since we all know the alternatives are much, MUCH worse...
