About the turnout in Ohio. It's good news for Romney, though not necessarily apocalyptically bad news for Obama. Maybe.
I just realized something: I seriously cannot get any meaningful work done today, I am so damn distracted with this election. And then it dawned on me -- that's probably true all over the country. So what does that mean? Perfect day for the biggest bank heist in history! Right -- I'll need a driver, a munitions specialist, a hacker, a forger, a lip reader, two dames (one blonde, one redhead), and an impressionist (preferably double-jointed). Oh yes, we'll also need a small dirigible, a case of penicillin, a school bus full of children and 4 river otters. Who's with me?
You're chilling out based on Colorado? Now I need a drink. There's something to be said for being conservative - insane confidence in the face of bleak "science".
Sorry, this is the second link I messed up today: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...istered-voters-in-cuyahoga-county-have-voted/
I also think that we're simply in an info-scarce period where any tidbit of news is going to be latched upon and, possibly, blown out of proportion.
Turnout stories seem to be about 95% campaign spin/wishful thinking, and about 5% actual journalism. That Cuyoga story was one of the best, but even then it's tough to know what to do with that information.
I voted around 12:45 today. Was shocked to see a short line (3-4 people). Waited 45 minutes in '08. What does that mean? I have no idea. I doubt anyone else does. (My precinct is pretty swing.) At least the pollworkers in my precinct correctly enforced the provisions currently in place in regards to ID. Thank FSM for small miracles.
Used to be pretty popular during the beginning of the 80ies when this tv show called "Western from yesterday" featured him.
Just checked in after this match and I see slight panic.... Why? Don't know why but she kind of does it for me.
And, here in Ohio, early voting has been so popular, it's hard to know how those votes affect turnout on election day in specific precincts. Banked votes are great, and all that, but there are only so many voters; if they votes in Columbus last weekend, they sure as hell aren't in line today.
No. I'm chilling out based on the picture that Matrim posted. Oh, I see. I didn't even notice that he'd written anything - I've just always loved that picture. I turned to it often in 2008, in weeks right after Sarah Palin's emergence on the scene. Bad news on the liquor-acquisition front. Turns out I left everything but my Discover card- credit/debit cards, cash and my drivers license - in my other jeans. I have my Discover card but they often ask for ID with that card. This means I have to hustle home to get my DL and means of payment and then hustle back over the river to the store. Suddenly, I feel some solidarity with those oppressed by voter ID laws.
Of course he's got this. I mean seriously Romney is not a threat to Obama. Gary Johnson, Ron Paul, and Jill Stein on the other hand. Well i guess we will never find but i got a feeling they would have been harder match for Obama then Romney.
