Leyva looked like he got drawn out to make a bad contest, starting a chain reaction that led to a goal, by my eye.
Lamar Batista is on trial with Minnesota United; started for them yesterday. Named in lineup as "trialist."
Leyva had some tidy touches to keep possession and preserve a 2-2 draw for Seattle -- also had an effective seal-and-dish in the box for a key pass that could've given Sounders a win. Overall an effective sub performance.
I think we may have missed this one yesterday. 🚨 NEWS 🚨We've signed Abraham Rodriguez to a Homegrown contract.Congrats, Abe! 👏#Rapids96— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 20, 2020
Had a nice hockey assist Héber 🔙 like he never left. 🤙Mata with the assist in his old haunt. 🏠pic.twitter.com/FLVQ5vIpET— New York City FC (@newyorkcityfc) February 21, 2020
Levya looks more fluid in his movements around the pitch. Previously, his movements looked like they took a lot of effort. I suspect he’s growing into his body as he gets older. He likely got stronger, as well.

I can't believe that Gary actually has let 2 of his players with europe level talent sign for the Galaxy.
Who’s the other? Dunbar wasn’t with the Galaxy academy long (was with Albion before), he’s not really a “Kleiban” kid. So not sure if Gary is even representing Cameron.
Good, maybe very good, not great. There are a number of better 03's already signed and playing in MLS. Left-footed playmaker. LA likes to play him on the RW, and he cuts inside. I find it dumb because he has below average athleticism. I think he's best suited as a CAM. He's a very good inside playmaker, and generates almost all of his good play towards the inside part of the field. Excellent technique and passing, very good foot skills. Plays for Mexico. He'd probably get into the best roster for his age group with the US, but it's an incredibly talented age group, so I'm not sure he's more than a bottom of the roster type of player for the US as of now. You'd prefer the kid to play for the US, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
Not a fan of Monis, IMO. Don't see much that stands out about his game. He's a good athlete, but not too good, and he's limited aside from that. He can score some goals, but he's a CF, so you'd expect that, and it's not as if he piles them up at a high rate either.
Can we get a list of who has impressed this preseason? Thanks. I haven't watched anything, unless you count CCL.
Nice fluff article on Nyeman, Paredes and Yow. Ben Olsen actually claims he will play them this year (Yow got PT last year). https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...e-high-schoolers-blend-with-roster-grown-men/
getting playing time is not necessarily the problem with DC United homegrowns. It's actually using that playing time to develop higher-quality players. Durkin, for example, got plenty of PT for DC -- he just looked awful while he did. Now apparently he looks good in Belgium. Olsen is not really a good development coach, sad to say.
Orlando signed draftee Joey DeZart, a '98. I also noticed that the Revs started Henry Kessler in a recent preseason match, though I have no idea how he's doing generally.
Eh, not the biggest fan of Olsen but I’d never call Durkin awful for DC. And, Chris is playing for a team currently that would get smoked by DC 9 times out of 10. But it was a good move for both parties. People being so negative about Chris’s U20 WC performance has actually now made him an underrated player. He can still spray the ball around from the 6 like no other player we’ve produced so far. But he needs to play in a particular system with a specific type of CM partner for his abilities to be best utilized.
