http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117916406?categoryid=1011&cs=1 Daily Variety report about $16 million "The Goal," scheduled to shoot in November in Rio de Janeiro and Miami about a teenager who rises from slums to become #1 soccer player in the world. Two interesting elements: (1) "He (the star) is traded to the U.S. when tragedy strikes while playing during the Brazilian championship." Traded to U.S. - like MLS? Say what?! (2) One of the Exec Producers is Spike Lee. I think someone's mentioned before on BS that Lee has interest in soccer.

I saw a movie called "The Final Goal" at a local Walgreens store. It was in the $9.99 rack. Thought I might ask if anybody saw the movie, then I checked the IMDB. Yikes! This sounds really bad. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113066/
