Yikes! That's not very good. I'd give the Fire even money against this team.

    Seriously:

Casey vs. Ralph (guessing advantage Fire)
    Kirovski vs. Razov (advantage Fire)
    Reyna vs. Williams (advantage YA)
Lewis vs. Beasley (small adv. Fire)
    Cherundolo vs. Whitfield (adv. YA)
    O'Brien vs. Armas (adv. YA)
Hernandez vs. Marsch (small adv. Fire)
    Gibbs vs. Bocanegra (adv. Fire)
Berhalter vs. Curtin (IMO adv. Fire)
    Onyewu vs. Brown/Gray (Push maybe)
Keller vs. Big Zach (adv. YA)

YA team is probably a little better, but not much.

    Humbly disagree. These four matchups:

    Reyna vs. Williams (advantage YA)
    Cherundolo vs. Whitfield (adv. YA)
    O'Brien vs. Armas (adv. YA)
Keller vs. Big Zach (adv. YA)

are significant advantages for the YA's. Every single advantage you listed for the fire is marginal (except maybe Gibbs/Bocanegra). The YA team would dominate possession.

The YA team may dominate possession, but the YA's would be in some serious speed mismatches all over the field. Extremely vulnerable on the counterattack and lacking scorers up front. Probably better than the Fire, but certainly not by much.

No kidding. I think Cherundolo could probably handle Beasley pretty well, and Gibbs or Berhalter Ralph, but, admittedly, Chicago is a lot more dangerous offensively than the YA's. What's interesting is that, although (I think) the yanks abroad would win versus Chicago, a USMNT-MLS team would take them apart.

Exactly! The Yanks-at-home team would easily pick apart this YA team. Anyways, we should get this game with Chicago set up. Howard's last MLS memory is of Razov putting one past him in overtime. I'm sure Ante would love to give him a fresh one:)

Although, by the time this fantasy game would take place, Bocanegra would probably be playing for their team.

    Umm...

Howards last match was a 3-3 draw vs the Revs

his second to last match was a 3-2 win over DC when Eddie Gaven scored the golden goal

his third to last match was a 4-4 draw vs the Smurfs

    I stand corrected.

6/28/2003 MET 1 at CHI 2 F(OT) Razov golden goal

    7/12/2003 MET 3 at NE 3 F(OT)

7/14/2003 Tim Howard Joins Manchester United

I apologize for the mistake. I still very much enjoy thinking about that goal though.

i'm not so sure that a midfield featuring reyna and JOB in the middle would be "easily picked apart" - by who? convey and martino? hmmm.... no

    Current form?

When is the last time JOB played? Someone named Sanneh. Sanneh? Will he ever play again?

Manchester City have been horrible the last 1 1/2 games w/o Reyna (who looked pretty good this season to me).

What Keller has done this season at Tottenham is amazing. He's kept that pathetic team so many games.

I can't belive Crazy_Yank is the only one other than myself to give the nod to Friedel as keeper!

Howards having a good first year, Keller is having a standout season - but Friedel is the most consistent ehh?
