What does Yankee Nord mean? Does it have anything to do with the US? Sorry if this has been asked before.
when it comes to the success the Yankees have had or when it comes to the overspending for players that the Yankees are known for?
They are in the north end. North = Yankees. On the contrary, the South Winners have sometimes a Confederate flag.
This thread makes me wonder is American pop culture catching on in France (more than before)? I've never been off North American continent so forgive my ignorance. Soccer is pretty much where I get internationale culture.
I'd say... much. But only a part of American pop culture. That which fits French temperament. I know people who're watching the Daily Show everyday. Christian rock'n roll fans are (fortunately) less numerous...
I thought there was something there because my son showed me this French guy who does all these stunts on the internet and maybe a French TV show?. A lot of it has American pop culture references-like NFL football, McDonald's and some other too that slips my mind at the moment. he kicks a soccer ball into the drive through window of the McDonald's and yells "GOOOOOOL". Forgot his name too.
