    They would be contenders for the title.

    Given his form this season, Valdes could probably push to start in goal. He'd at least be on the bench.
    Falcao is another (assuming he loses his race to be fit on time.)

    True, and I was 50/50 on Falcao. Vela, Lucas, Carrick,Gomez, Walcott are also candidates

    Looks like Tevez will miss out.

    For Argentina besides Tevez you also have Gaitan - who has been on form with Benfica for quite a while now - and numerous other players. Caballero, for example, who has been one of La Liga's best keepers for years while we take a bench-warming Romero to Brazil. :rolleyes:

    I actually posted a whole team made up of Argentine players who will be missing the WC in the Argentine forum yesterday:

    Caballero;
    Ansaldi - Musacchio - Fazio - Orban;
    Cambiasso;
    Pastore - D'Alessandro - Gaitan;
    Tevez - Zarate

    Subs: Barovero, Coloccini / G. Rodriguez, Insua, Krannevitter, Moralez, Lamela, Icardi

    JoseEmidio repped this.
