I just finished reading this updated version, released 10/2007, with an a new intro by the author himself - Ray Davies. It's a great read and, of course, you couldn't count on Ray Davies to play it straight. I highly recommend it. I will listen to nothing but Kinks for the next week. I am also re-reading it and listening to each song as it's mentioned in the book the first time.
