No none of you left-leaning types started a thread on this guy? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/rep-david-wu-accused-unwanted-sexual-encounter-131743007.html I guess if it isn't a right sided scandal it isn't quite as fun.
The difference between Wu and the Repubs are that Wu banged one, the Repubs are having a Menage' a 350 million
Mostly true. Although DSK is a Socialist, no? This Wu guy sounds like a prize. See this is why Weiner shouldn't have resigned -- we should save the outrage and moralizing for the bad eggs like this guy, not for hounding the marginal cases.
As a left-leaning type, allow me to point out that Wu wasn't oppressing his victim, he was actually liberating her. Unfortunately, she is afflicted with "false consciousness" and as a result misinterprets the event. Frankly, she should be sent to a re-education camp, if not shot.
I know we talk about people in congress and how they can be assholes in their personal life and it should not affect their political career. But this guy is not simply being a jerk in his personal life. He is apparently mentally unstable. Reportedly he's been behaving erratically for some time, like for example sending pictures to his staffers of himself dressed up in a tiger suit. It's been reported that he needed psychiatric help. Maybe in his case the aggressive sexual activity is part of his mental illness.
Yeah I'm surprised the right-wingers in this forum haven't jumped on this sooner - Wu has been acting erratically for months now. I'm glad he's sticking around until the debt limit hostage situation is over though.
Because that's what we need, a more mentally unstable person at the negotiating table. Anyone that would value his opinion on anything should have their right to vote revoked. Of course, he will vote with his block, right?
Although I follow a few of the threads in the P&CE forum, I rarely post. The numbers are so overwhelmingly biased against a rational non-lefty, posting is pointless most of the time.
"rational" = "that which stanger agrees with." Seriously, if you had any faith in rational discourse and your ability to weld it, you wouldn't come across as such a self-righteous prig in this post.
Wu, regardless of his sexual escapades, is a nutcase. He has real mental health - and possibly substance abuse - issues. A few months ago 6 of his high-level staffers quit en masse because he wouldn't get help. It's very good that he's gone.
If at least 50 Republicans refuse to vote for a debt ceiling increase, as they have so far given their word, then every single Democratic vote counts.
If the debt crisis comes down to Rep. crouching tiger we are all in deep shit. You realize this liberal Rep is bat shit crazy (but I repeat myself) don't you?
No I understand, that's why I was surprised this thread took so long to debate. If there was a Democrat fail thread, then I probably would have posted in that. But it doesn't make sense in the Obama fail thread.
Wu-manizer? http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2004/10/allegation_of_assault_on_woman.html Apparently when an undergrad RA at Stanford, he attempted to violently rape his girlfriend. Not date-rape, but just straight-up, I'm gonna smother you and then stick it in you kind of stuff. Too bad no charges were ever filed.
Don't we have a bipartisan thread for batshit crazy members of Congress? Edit: I would have sworn that we had a thread for this but I can't find it.
I know! I know! When right wingers say "lefty" or "liberal" or "Obama", they're including people in the middle and center-right. I mean, if you look at a lot of anti-Republican posts here, you see them taking centrist, even conservative positions. Now, even if you're on the far end of the political spectrum, you tend to think, "My position is pretty reasonable." And if you're hard core right wing, naturally, you think of people whose positions you don't share as pinko commies, and you get that the boards have been taken over by terrorist huggers. So this thread is totally understandable.
