orange county 2-1 in ot The red stars tied it up with a couple minutes to go in regulation but after orange co took the lead in ot the redstars still had several good chance late but could not get the equalizer. You have to had it to both teams playing 120 minutes in that heat.
Who scored the goals? Anyway, congrats to the Red Stars for doing so well this season. Hope to see both teams in WPS next year!
Thanks to all for following the team and attending. The webcast archive should be up today and you can watch it. We won't editorialize too much but were 2 feet from equalizing with 2 minutes in second overtime and almost got to PKs. Overtime we absolutely dominated and finally were playing our game (which is remarkable after 180 minutes in two days). Not bad for forming the team in late April -- we are overwhelmed with interest already from some superb players for 2012. Ewing scored for Chicago in the 88th. If you watch nothing else, check out that last 40 minutes where we chased and equalized late and then took it to them in OT. Almost got Chicago a championship. 2012 is wide open. Lots of things afoot in all the leagues for women so we'll have to see where the chips fall. But we'll be in the title hunt somewhere next year. We need your support and interest -- thanks for caring. Arnim
