I very well may have seen the worst television show ever last night. See, when a commercial break came up on last nights Smackdown!, I changed the channel to NBC at about 9:30 to see what was on and some television show called "Coupling" was on. I kid you not - this very well may have been the worst show I've ever seen in my life. This show is horrible. It is like a Seinfeld but without the relevance (now that's saying a lot), humor, and talent. Yes, I said talent. So I turned back to Smackdown and was very much satisfied with seeing the Undertaker choke slam Brock Lesnar through the announcer's table. Only I wish that he could have done that to the NBC execs for allowing such drivel like "Coupling" find the airwaves. My diatribe ends here. And yes, I know that the wrestling isn't real, and I am prepared to hear the "the worst show you saw last night was Smackdown!" comments. But in reality, "Coupling" may have been the worst period. Sheesh, and there's no room in the networks for "Keen Eddie". So what's the worst TV show you've seen? It could be this fall, it could be years ago.
It's actually an American version of a show that airs on BBC America. --What was that show on Fox a few months ago about a family that was always getting into weird situations? In one episode the car fell in love with the daughter. Now that was crap.
Because if you do, you may remember a show that followed it in its second season for three weeks called What A Dummy. It was so bad, it not only got cancelled long before Small Wonder, but it made SW look like The greatest television show ever created. Good god was it horrible.
I´m sure very few will agree with me, but i think Buffy is one of the worst things i have ever seen. I´ve only seen enough for 2 who episodes when you add all the bits together, but it was just so amazingly stupid that i couldn´t watch anymore of it. The guy "spike" with the terrible fake english accent REALLY bothered me, and i want him to die.
Re: Re: Worst Television Show You've Seen I remember that show - it was on Fox - the one that was a borderline Married With Children rip-off. Yeah, that show really sucked. Small Wonder featuring Vicki'. Sort of a classic nowadays I guess. But the kid started to grow up. I don't care much for Good Morning Miami. It just has a few hot chicks. But that's it. Nah, Coupling sucks. Still the worst IMO. At least the US version seems pretty awful to me.
I didn't like that show either. I hated Buffy. Spike didn't bother me so much despite the bad accent. Almost reminded me of someone that may have had an accent when he was 4 years old but was trying to hold onto b'cause the "chicks dig it". But that show has a weird cult following. No pun intended.
Re: Re: Re: Worst Television Show You've Seen \ I'm thinking of the one with Matt LeBlanc, Joseph Bologna and Joey Lauren Adams. Pure cheese.
How "Friends" can be a top 5 show for so many yrs. is just beyond all rational belief. Crappy, two-bit actors with horrible writing, canned laughter and never-ending dating combinations between the "friends." Oh yeah - did i mention the theme song that has been known to cause convulsions? Pure sh!t but America loves it. The Bon Jovi of television.
No kidding. Thank you for saying this. Friends is good for one thing though, it's fans can instantly be identified as card-carrying members of the bewildered herd.
The Kumars at number 42=Sanjeev Baskhar and some of the other GGM team play a family who have turned their garden into a studio for a chat show. So it's a comedy/chat show, but without the comedy. It's makes you think Graham Norton is great. There is also one which featured Meera Syal (also from Goodness gracious me), and Jasper Carrott as a mixed race couple who both have kids (one of whom is disabled). It has had one series, but sadly another is looming. All I can say is that it is painfully unfunny. It's so bad, my mind has deleted the title from my memory to protect me. The Office=Ricky Gervais is David Brent, an exaggerated version of himself. Wow. Boring, boring, boring.
What about the show that I heard is on after Smackdown now, isn't it like called the Mullets? I saw part of one show, it looked absolutly horrible and I don't understand why anyone would want to watch something that stupid.
I've seen every episode of the British version of "Coupling" and think it is a good show. But your right the NBC version completely sucks. They have to edit out alot of stuff because it is on American broadcast TV. My vote for worst TV Show ever has to be "Homeboys in Outer Space". The name says it all
Absolutely!       The irony is that "Homeboys in Outer Space" was the show that replaced one of the best shows in TV history... "Nowhere Man". -G
Spartak took my first vote. Homeboys in Outer Space sucked beyond belief. But if I have to throw a name in the hat, it would have to be either Baby Bob or Normal,Ohio (The show on Fox when John Goodman played a gay guy)
What about "The Secret Diary of Desmond Pffeifer?" (I think that was the name). UPN series in '98 where a black british guy goes to work in the White House as Lincoln's butler. Offensive in all sort of ways: Lincoln is dumb, Mary Lincoln is a slut, etc. The one episode I saw was where Lincoln gets addicted to telegraph sex. At one point, he can't tap out the code so asks the butler to do it. Buter goes "yeah, make the black guy tap." I honestly beleve that UPN exists solely as a tax writeoff for Viacom.
Oh, another one would be Sifl and Oly on MTV. That may have been worse. I remember one night my former teammates on my club team made me watch it, promising it to be one of the funniest things ever. It was 5th class stoner humor done by sock puppets! No wonder I think all those guys are idiots now.
That Normal ohio show sucked beyond belief. To me the worst show ever was the episode of Head of the Class where they did a video for the time capsules. The principal makes a video and the class think its sucks so they decide to make thier own "cool" 80´s episode and then turn out the biggest piece of sh%t in the history of the world. Everyone though it was cool including the audience. I´m sure that if you take the cast and the audience in the present, locked them in a room and played that episode over and over, they drink cyanide before ever showing their face ever again.
Worst TV show? Jeez, imagine the competition... My nomination? Some show on Australian television, on the Seven Network, called "Mile High". Probably the worst show beyond anything that the culture known as reality TV can conjure up. Most of you have never heard of it, probably because it's a British show that's been imported here in Australia. Basically, it's set around a fictional airline-- but the presence of any actual storylines are merely rumours. As the title implies, there is so much nookie going on, it totally obscures whatever is actually happening. Kinda like "Melrose Place", except with more sex. More like a legitimised porno once a week, according to my wife. It's a shame this drivel is on-- it's regarded as the worst show on free-to-air TV here, and it follows one of the best Australian dramas, "Blue Heelers". Night and day comparison, really...
My wife TiVos virtually every primetime sitcom, so at some point I've seen 'em all. (And she wonders why I'd rather be surfing the web than watching TV with her...) Coupling was the worst piece of trash ever. Even my wife - who was excited about it ahead of time (tho she won't admit it now) - only made it thru the first three minutes before deleting it.
