No, his 5 minutes of fame came before the DP rule.

...and if Claudio wasn't Captian America, and some guy from another country he would be winning.

    Is what it is.

    Pretty non sensical.

Two full years of non performing/zero impact and people defend him. Homerism. Pure and simple. Yankee homerism.

Wow, Davino was so bad that he was the worst DP despite never being a DP?

    Go back a couple pages.

According to some, duration of contract is the top deciding factor, not on field performance.

Reyna - Two full years of crap. Nothing redeeming about him in any way.
    Any way.

Other than Yankee nostalgia homerism how can he not be the winner?

Denilson. High profile Brazilian washout who couldn't hack it here and was gone in a few months. Must be sweet to make fun of a Brazilian.

Claudio. US icon who couldn't hack it when healthy (produced like our 30K players at his best) and was around much, much longer...but he is a beloved Yank - Capt America!

Yeah, his nationality and nostalgia factor have nothing to do with it.;)

Crap for a few months and off the books.

Crap for two years on the books.

If CR is Brazilian and Den. is a Yank the poll turns around instantly.

The facts are there, the answers are emotional.

If Blanco played like CR he would have 1000 votes next to his name now.
    Let's get real here folks.

    Homerism. Plain and simple.
