We've finally decided on having our home base for the USA's World Cup campaign as Spats Restaurant & Bar at 182 Angell Street in Providence, RI.

The Outlaws and all our friends will be there for all three group stage games, and hopefully a few more after that!

The England-USA game starts at 2:30 on the 12th, but be sure to get there early to watch the pregame coverage (1:30) and get a good spot at the bar or a table.

For the Slovenia and Algeria games, Spats will be opening early, and we will have more info in regard to possible breakfast deals as well as the exact opening time so we can take in the pregame coverage and get settled.

Spats has a full, delicious menu, good beers to choose from and they serve beer towers and beer vessels for you thirsty guys out there.

Let us know if you plan on coming, and we look forward to seeing you all throughout the tournament!

Also, has anyone seen the infamous Beat England banners up on Rt 95 in Providence?

    Hey Providence,

can you do AO Hartford a favor?

We have a signup sheet for the August 10 Brazil game in NJ. we started ours last night at a happy hour, and will bring it to each viewing party. Depending on numbers, we can either share a bus, or busses to keep costs down.

all we are looking for is name e-mail phone number of people with SERIOUS intent to take a bus to Jerzy.

I am also posting this in Boston, so if need be, they can pick you guys up on their way, but using 1 bus company for all 3 chapters seems the way to go, and will save us money.

also we can buy tickets in a block.

can someone please take this on for the chapter?

    VOR,

We have let people know about Hartfords idea already. We will definitelly be in touch about this soon.

BTW, we had such a turnout at Spats on Saturday that people had to be turned away at the door at the start of the game. Good job and hopefully all of our members were the ones able to get inside. Let's rock Spats again on Friday morning. They open at 9:30 and I would again encourage everyone to get there then. The turnout won't be as crazy for a big weekend match, but should be well-attended regardless.

We will also be back at Spats for the 3rd group game next Wednesday morning at 9:30am.

Ee are approaching official member status, so keep signing up and be sure to renew your membership if that is coming up. Let them know you want to be a part of our chapter when doing so.

Finally, GoLocalProv.com sent a photog to the game Saturdya. He had a blast and tooka lot of pics for their website, and even some video of yorus truly and Kyle Lindsay about the event and our group. So check out their website and look out for that stuff... (they have great WC coverage for a local news-focused site).

Another GREAT turnout for the USA v Slovenia game. Too bad about the result, but hopefully we play much better in teh first half on Wednesday and seal our qualification into the next round. Perhaps a revenge matchup against Ghana or Germany?

Speaking of Wednesday, same deal as before, Spats opens at 9:30am, game starts at 10am. Here is the facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=137240332957704&index=1

USA vs Ghana at 2:30pm at Spats. Lets get revenge on them for that crap in 2006.

Be sure to get there plenty early as we expect the same in not a better turnout than the England match, where people had to be tunred away at the door due to fire code capacity.

It was rocking yesterday and the impromptu celebrations on Angell and Thayer streets was epic. Much thanks to the firetrucks who came by!

Video of our parties can be seen on GoLocalProv.com's Sports section, as well as on NBC's new last evening!
