The NJB is proud to announce that the Scots American Club in Kearny NJ will be our official home for the 2010 World Cup and perhaps beyond.

The Club has two rooms downstairs with 6 televisions total (three 42" HD, two 32" HD and one 50" HD). There is a backyard area with a horeshoe pit AND a hall upstairs with a small bar area which fits 250 people and has a 7 foot HD projector!

We will be hosting all USA Group and KnockOut Games at the Club and will be adding to the already festive atmosphere that the Club will have for the USA Games. We will be assisting in providing food at a minimal cost and as always we will have a 50/50 raffle packed with fun prizes for all. We will also be providing rides from the Harrison PATH for the Saturday USA vs England game.
(see below for more details on all three USA Group Games)

We will also be selling a limited quantity of our new "New Jersey" Soccer scarf along with our tried and true North Jersey Brigade favorite. We will also be selling our new PINT Glasses - what better way to drink and watch the USA shock the World ...

The Scot's Club, located at 40 Patterson St in Kearny,is about a mile from Red Bull Arena and the Harrison Path Station . The Club has been around for over 70 years and has been an integral part in New Jersey and United States Soccer History. It was focused recently in a Star Ledger Article about Soccer History surrounding Red Bull Arena and it was also mentioned in an article about the history of West Hudson Soccer in the Red Bull Arena Inaugrual game Program.

Here is what we have planned for the Group Stage:

    6/12 US-England 2pm kickoff

$5 fee if you want Food which WILL inlcude a ticket for one free domestic draft

Free transportation 2:30 hours before the game from the Harrison Path Station.

2:00 hours of free transportation back to the Harrison Path Station, starting 1 hour from the end of game.

$2.00 Domestic drafts and other drink specials.

Beer Bucket Specials of 5 for $10

50/50 Raffles with prizes ranging from official USA merchandise to tickets to future Red Bull Games

    6/18 US-Slovenia 10am kickoff & 6/23 US-Algeria 10am kickoff

    Pancake/Waffle Breakfasts by donation

$2.00 Domestic drafts and other drink specials.

50/50 Raffles with prizes ranging from official USA merchandise to tickets to future Red Bull Games

This email was just sent to the njb mailing list:

    In this email:

    1. Menu Finalized
    2. Harrison PATH Transportion
    3. Parking
    4. Volunteers Needed
    5. Scot's Club Hours

We are a little more than a day away from the start of the 2010 World Cup.

Here is some more information as we prepare for Saturday's USA game at the Scot's Club vs England.

    1. Menu Finalized

We are proud to say that Chef Leon and his brother, of ESC and NJB Bus Trip fame, will be taking over the kitchen and helping us on Saturday with the food. The food will be served starting at 12:00pm. Here are the good eats you can expect for only $5:

    Chicken Wings
    Sausage and Peppers with rolls
    Baked Ziti
    Basil Garlic Bread
    Romain Salad

We will aslo have a special dessert which I'm sure everyone will like.

Oh yeah, and you'll get a free domestic drink ticket too.....

    2. Harrison PATH Transportation to Club

We have commandeered a TAN Soccer Mom Mini Van to be our shuttle to and from the Scot's Club. We will be picking people up from the Harrison PATH Pick Up/Drop Off Area beginning 2 hours and 30 minutes before the game which is 12pm. We have a 3 x 5 American Flag on the Mini Van to help you recoginize it. The driver will also be wearing a red 'North Jersey Brigade' T-shirt. We can only shuttle 6 people at a time so please be patient as we make our round trips to and from the Club.

If you get to Harrison early or if you decide not to wait for the shuttle, there are two other ways to get to the Scot's Club.

    (1) Right outside the PATH entrance there is a Taxi Stand where you can get a taxi to take you to the Scots Club. You are looking at about a $7.00 cab fare

    (2) If you decide to walk from the PATH, the club is about a mile away. Head North on Frank E Rodgers Blvd (the direction AWAY from Red Bull Arena). Frank E Rodgers will turn into Kearny Ave. When you reach Woodland Ave, make a left. Make your first right onto Highland Ave. Continue on Highland until you reach Patterson St and you will see the Scot's Club. For walking directions via Google, please click here.

    3. Parking

Currently there is only on street parking available. The Scot's Club is trying to secure the Church Parking Lot next door for Saturday. Please be sure to drive by the lot and check to see if there is a sign saying it is available for Scot's Club parking.

    4. Volunteers Needed

The NJB is looking for some volunteers to help out Saturday before and after the game. If anyone is interested in helping us, please respond to this email or let Ed Kirwan know before Friday please. We are looking for people to help serve food, provide wristbands for food, man our merchandise station and clean up afterwards.

    5. Scot's Club Hours

The Scot's Club will be open for the early game (7:30am kickoff) so feel free to get to the Scot's club when ever you want. You'll want to get there early so you can make sure you get yourself a New Jersey Scarf, NJB Pint Glass and some chicken wings before they run out!

Again for the rest of the details, please check our World Cup Watch Parties page.

    See everyone Saturday.

    Let's go USA!!!
