I'm pulling for Porto, the Intercontinental Cup, I hope Porto can have enough time between games in the superliga, Uefa, Portuguese cup etc http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...A--?slug=reu-worldclub&prov=reuters&type=lgns
Good stuff Frank. Porto welcomes support from classy futebol fans like yourself. I have confidence Porto will win this match.
that win could saved Porto season, and make Portugal proud again people don't believe me, but I always pull for the portuguese teams when they play in the World teams
the ex Porto international RD Joao Pinto saw Caldas win the last game http://www.ojogo.pt/20-256/artigo419369.htm
When I saw this thread I thought Wow! Porto is going to play Caldas da Rainha from the Segunda Div. B Just kidding........ I know they are playing for the Intercontinental Cup against Copa Libertadores winner Once Caldas, but since my hometown is Caldas da Rainha it was worth a post.
Fox sports net usually has the game. If i remember correctly last year the game between Milan and Boca juniors was at 5 Am eastern time. By the way Tokyo is 12 hours ahead!
I was close, I was in Japan 3 times in the early 70's, I was at Osaka air base, just outside of Tokyo
The game will be on Fox Sports World live and will be played in Japan. I believe there is a 14 hour time difference not 10 as previously mentioned. Either way plan to get up early if you are on the East Time Zone.
Porto have real conditions to win Once Caldas...Santos lost the leg with a stupid goal given by André Luis at 89' and São Paulo lost with another stupid goal at 90'.But Once Caldas sometimes plays like Greece...10 DF and one MF. But I think this will be a good game to see.
Sport Tv offer 200 thousand dollars for the rights of the game http://www.ojogo.pt/20-273/artigo423911.htm
Caldas taken the game serious, they will be leaving for Japan in the next couple days, I hope get some days off from the Superliga http://www.record.pt/noticia.asp?id=619562&idCanal=17
I believe Porto plays on a Wednesday night against Chelsea and 4 days later in Japan against Caldas, very little time to rest
To be fair the plane ride is no where near 24 hours...It takes about 13-14 hours from lisbon...Trust me I'm half japanese and porkchop...I've made several trips from lisbon to narita (tokyo) and its not that bad. However, I hear that its getting quite chilly over there....
it took me about 18 hours from Travis air force, thru Alaska, to the old Clarke afb, Okinawa and Osaka
hehe...what exact base were you located in? I've been to a couple in Tokyo when I played highschool basketball/baseball like Camp Zama, Kinnick/Yokosuka, Yokota and been to kubaski and kadena in okinawa...I wasn't aware that Osaka had bases. Have you been back since?
