No surprises with Uruguay. The same team more or less that they've had for the past couple of years. Cavani + Suarez are most probably the most dangerous attack pairing in this tournament as they can hit you with a variety of ways.

England got it right by bringing a young squad

Gotta be honest, I know nothing of Costa Rica

Lots of people complaining about Sabella not bringing Tevez, Pastore, Lamela but I think he did the right thing.

Tevez, must be a real trouble maker for Di Santo to be picked ahead of him.

He's just not good enough and its no coincidence he hasn't been picked since he missed that PK against Uruguay.

Holds to much influence within the squad and apparently has issues with Messi., although some say Messi is jealous that the people favour tevez more than him.

Sabella is basically saying to Messi, Kun and Higuain "You are my guys. I don't need to rely on anyone else"

Contrast to Maradona who brought 9 forwards in 2010

Difficult group, but I think we will get a result against England. I am much more concerned about our defense keeping any combination of Suarez, Cavani and Forlan in check.

Tevez is as good, if not better, than Higuain, Palacio, Lavezzi and Di Santo. If Sabella was going on talent or performance this season, he got it wrong.

I wouldn't put Tevez past Higuain at this stage in their careers. I would say they are on eachothers levels

    Also

Messi and Kun is more than enough to carry your attack. Having Tevez sit on the bench is surplus to requirements

I don't disagree with Tevez v. Higuain. However, no one can say that other than Messi and Kun, the other players were more deserving than Tevez. It must be a personality issue. Injuries do occur, and you do need subs. Tevez would be useful.

Just heard an interesting stat on the morning show. Landon Donovan has scored more world cup goals than Messi Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic combined. Mostly though they were talking about Tevez and said Messi didn't want him on the team. One guy said Tevez had a better year than Messi. Another said yeah Messi had a bad year but he scored double the amount of goals.

Italy’s World Cup opponents Uruguay have been hit with news that Luis Suarez has suffered a knee injury that could rule him out this summer.

The Liverpool forward twisted his knee during training with his national team colleagues yesterday, and, after feeling discomfort afterwards, underwent precautionary tests.

Those tests highlighted damage to the meniscus in the joint and the Uruguay camp have reported that the player will now undergo surgery on the injury.

This is believed set for Thursday, handing Suarez 22 days to recover in time to make the Celeste’s opening Group D match with Costa Rica.

Those in the country’s training camp are reportedly optimistic for the 27-year-old’s chances, but recovery from such an injury can take between four and six weeks.

I highly doubt Suarez will be at his max with the proximity of the surgery.

Indestructible, show some class. Cheering for injuries is not very sportsmanlike.

I always thought Ghana was one of thr best team's in 2010. Too bad they lost on that stupid handball/PK it would have been interesting to see how far they could of went. Ghana as a dark horse in brazil is not a far fetch.
