Williams finally gets green card

    Nothing yet, but this would jive with everything I've heard.

    Having a green card may well save AW's job.

    This isn't much of a surprise to me, if true. At the same time, I seem to recall Etcheverry being carried as a Green Card holder for months before he actually attained that status. So, there is precedent in the league to hold a player's status as GC-pending.

    One wonders how this affects the expansion draft strategy, if at all.
