Okay, this game is scheduled for 11pm. But I just saw that the US basketball quarterfinal is now scheduled for midnight (instead of the 4am time they were showing earlier). Something's gotta give here. Would they really tape delay the US basketball team for an MLS match?
MLS better come first i love MLS but i hav trouble staying up in early morning hours laugh out loud ..... and this is another way to make my friends mad that hate soccer but hav been watching FIBA championship
Good God, don't you people know how to use a TV Guide? http://sports.espn.go.com/espntv/espnGuide http://www.tvguide.com/default http://tvlistings5.zap2it.com/tvlistings The MLS game will be on at 11:00 PM. Basketball will be on at 1:00 AM.
Apparently it is pretty hard for some people to learn how to type AND to learn how to use a TV listing. JeremyEritrea has it right.
well ESPN must have some executives that like soccer or how did we get that 8 year deal where ESPN is paying MLS
"ESPN hates soccer" is what everybody without a clue used to say whenever the subject of soccer on ESPN came up. So much so that now, it's sarcasm.
Reminds me of my introduction to Big Soccer. One of my first threads (4.5+ years ago, now) was about how espn sportscenter didn't highlight MLS. I got absolutely flammed for starting that thread (oh what great memories). People around here have no hesitation ripping new posters a new bumhole. They are not a welcoming bunch of folks. They expect every new member to go back and read 4-6 years worth of threads. Which nobody, I repeat nobody should be expected to do.
Well as long as we're on the topic of Ethics of Newbie-ology... You're right. We can't expect newbies to be familiar w/ the years of dialogue. At the same time, we can expect them to look on the first couple of pages, minimum, to see if a topic has been covered. And it's always advisable to read quite a bit of threads before posting and especially starting a thread.
Well here is my advice to you and all other long time BS posters. If you see a thread about a subject that you have read about hundreds of times, how about just not opening the thread and reading any of it. Sometimes there are new people here that want to discuss new aspects of the same subjects that all of you others have already talked about. Just leave those who want to discuss it now alone. There is no need to take the time to post a message just say how stupid someone is or how upset you are that they are wasting everyones time with a subject that has been discussed over and over. They are only wasting your time if YOU let them. I am just so sick of these kinds of posts. So many of you guys are so high mantenance. It is frustrating for us how just want to stay up to date with the happenings in MLS.
Maybe once every couple of weeks you'll see them show the highlight of an actual MLS game, they are more likely to show an MLS goal in their daily top 10 than anything else. To my knowledge they've never had an in-broadcast breakdown of a MLS game. Surprisingly when I wasnt a MLS fan I do remember they reported a MLS trade that involved Meola and Alexi Lalas I believe which would be unheard of now.
they can't show highlights of a few games a week? I know they have a lot on their plate but it would take no more than 2 minutes to even acknowledge the product they are paying for. Whenever I watch ESPN sportscenter they show a lot of damn nascar stuff.
