Would think Tierney is gone, wants playing time, we really need to find someone who can play Zinchenkos role.

Tomiyasu is the cover at left back.

Decent LBs are a PITA to find, way easier to flip Tomi to the left and find a new RB.

Inverted full backs are hard to find on either side.

Which is why I posed the question RE Tomi. He has shown to be a better inverted FB vs a defensive/CB-like FB. Will be much easier to find a FB similar to Ben whether it's on the left or right. Though it makes more sense to me to find a backup for Ben and flip Tomi to the left where he is perfectly comfortable.

I disagree, I think Tomiyasu is good in the air and a great 1v1 defender, but his passing is sloppy and he doesn't have the best close control. I think he's more defensive than White, see Bournemouth where White came on at half and the attack worked better.

    Just sign a midfielder.

On paper I agree with you. However his performances on the left (in the inverted role) have been better. I noticed it when he was playing there a few games back. Wasn't as good on the ball as OZ but looked better and more confident with the ball than he has on the right since before the WC. Then before I posted that suggestion a couple days ago I went and confirmed via whoscored...

    compared to OZ...

    And White...

Probably a little easier said than done. More so than anything would simply be convincing a natural MF to drop back to LB. Showing them OZ film may help but players often tend to get hung up on the position they think they should be playing (AMN). If we did go that route, I would suggest taking a look at...

22yo left-footed, French DM Enzo Loiodice who currently plays for Las Palmas. Contract expires in 2025.

22yo left-footed, Danish DM Matt O'Riley who currently plays for Celtic. Contract expires 2026.

I actually think England will get better without Kane assuming you have a manager in place that isn't the current idiot.

Theres an unhealthy reliance on Kane under the current regime and during the WC it kinda felt at times if you shut Kane out England didn't have options.

At some point Kane leaves and you might have a ridiculously potent front 3 of Saka, Rashford and Foden which is ********ing scary to be honest.

I wouldn't bet on seeing Toney in the NT anytime soon.

And Toney probably takes that bet :ROFLMAO:

    37 caps.

Also would've been eligible for Eritrea.

    Isak isn't English he's Swedish.

On paper Kane, Saka and Rashford is a dream. They compliment each other so well. On paper that is. Maybe we'll see that with Sterling's decline.

Balogan and Nketiah are the next 2 steikers after kane and Toney. Especially in terms of younger players getting minutes and coming through

I was being a flippant, but bigman's point is probably that very few clubs play with inverted fullbacks, someone like Zinchenko who was experienced in that role was unique. So yeah, you have to focus on the skillset of a midfielder, and convince that player that they can really thrive in the free role that Arteta allows Zinchenko.

Typically see that to avoid detection from software looking for copyright infringement. When the video is flipped, it not longer matches exactly, so it doesn't get flagged.

In Tomi's last appearance as late sub for OZ at Lisbon, he was playing a fair amount in deep central MF as inverted LB. IIRC.
