He is grossly over paid. Nobody besides Columbus would pay Wily Franchise that much. Why would he take a pay cut and have to fight for spot when he can stay home in a cushy job.
I dont think has anything to do with his agent. MLS started overpaying a select number of American players in 2013. That $600k number seems to be what they like to do for Besler and Zusi type players. They have extended that to overhyped homegrown players. Unless you are one of those, you are out of luck.
$600K is in line, though slightly below typical, with a MLS starter in central midfield makes, if he is not on his first contract since becoming a starter. American players in MLS are certainly not being 'overpaid' or whatever nonsense people want to pedal. If the US qualifies for the Olympics perhaps that would be the time to approach Cajuste.
Perhaps you should go back to the multiple threads where you spammed that Morales should NEVER HAVE BEEN ELIGIBLE to play for the US and correct your misinformation? Start here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/alfredo-morales-discussion-thread.2105770/#post-38068984 Kudos to @BostonRed for acknowledging that he was wrong in his assertions. Perhaps you should do the same!
I did. Read this post https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/alfredo-morales-discussion-thread.2105770/page-5#post-38076735 In doing so, I uncovered that Jens Cajuste was told by US Soccer, incorrectly, that he was ineligible to play for the United States - when Tab Ramos tried to call him up in 2018. I am so sorry that I polluted a thread for you. All I did was a apply a rule in the same way it was applied by US Soccer to a player. But I was onto something. Either U.S. Soccer was wrong about Cajuste or wrong about Morales/Robinson. They were wrong about the former.
Everybody knows Brian Sciaretta hates dual nationals. It is sad that there are fans who appreciate reporters doing bad reporting.
Typically am the first to interview dual nationals - sometimes before they’re on any NT radar (a few examples being Johannsson, Chandler, D Williams, Payne, Tyler Boyd, etc) uncovered a dual national given wrong info about his eligibility - Cajuste. Spent many hours speaking with his family and other coaches about this And, last but not least, I am a dual national myself. So yes, I hate dual nationals. You got me
If only you were capable of admitting your (frequent) mistakes as well, THHF... https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/alfredo-morales-discussion-thread.2105770/page-5#post-38087158
Stejskal is reporting that Columbus is "seriously listening" to offers for Trapp in MLS, but that Trapp would prefer a transfer abroad to a move within MLS. https://theathletic.com/1361057/201...ves-already-heating-up-as-mls-cup-draws-near/
Doesn't he have a Greek passport? Now all that is needed is someone interested in him in Europe, willing to pay more than a MLS club. A bit doubtful, if you ask me.
Besler and Zusi are on a different level compared to Trapp when it comes to the USMNT and MLS. What a bad gamble by MLS/The crew,
Good gamble by the Crew. They made MLS Cup and generally, significantly outperformed their payroll rankings.
Absolutely! This was the sentence that applied to Trapp... They have extended that to overhyped homegrown players.
Everyone in MLS is overhyped, by the fatuous reasoning of some. More realistically, American MLSers get paid in line with what other starters make in the league. This season, 22 defenders made over $700K. Besler is a two-time MLS Best XI.
