I know Twitter is not a very good medium for clearly explaining a situation. But did the Whitelandian IT guy get canned because of his Obama post?
Don't be too quick to assume that it was from the left/streets. This is exactly how right wing takeovers are done... there seems to be continuing doubt as to who actually killed Horst Wessel...
That shit might work in places like NW Georgia, but it's not going work where 80%+ of the people live.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/06/poli...ris-county-texas-gop-chair-resigns/index.html The chairman-elect of the Republican party in Harris County (not some podunk big empty space in West Texas, but Houston's county) is stepping down after a controversy in which he posted a quote by Martin Luther King, along with a banana.
I know there are Republicans who claim that they personally are not racist, and that Democrats tend to overstate how much racism forms a part of the GOP, but ... come on. Incidents like this occur far too often with local GOP officials. The denials just aren't credible.
Thar's just weird-- dogwhistle? Is there any possible association of King and banana which even an utterly tone-deaf unwoke admirer could post benignly/mistakenly? Have you any clue how the image was situated?
Well between him and the crazy Texas GOP lady who said the Floyd murder was staged the whole state must be bananas. I’ve quoted this anecdote before, a couple of years back when it was like 110 degrees in Texas my wife’s relatives came up to stay on the Oregon coast with us, by invitation. He a successful retired banker her a neighbour of the Bushes and went to the prom with Dubya. Delightful people, even went to the local church on Sunday. But now and then they could shock When we found the N word was just a common part of their vocabulary. Just normal usage! my wife had to have a word with them about it. They did apologize but only for offending us. Gentle folk! oh, they told us they went out and bought handguns for the family when Obama was going to put a stop to ownership. Texas...!
Sometimes they're insanely paranoid racists. This is from the Facebook page of the Hillsborough (FL) Country GOP Chair.
Hillsborough Country, that sounds about right. To me, that post is the epitome of anti-establishment thinking. I hear sneers constantly against "the establishment," but the alternatives always seem to sound like a version of this guy.
Plus, twice that dumb ********er wrote loose instead of lose. And I won't mention the missing verb in the last sentence. (Whoops, I just did.)
If every single American was dragged from their burning home and murdered, who would kill the very last person? IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY LOGICAL SENSE!!! It's like a Bertrand Russell paradox.
