ESPN+ is $5/month. You can find a cheap VPN for about $3/month. That is about the same price as the discount Flo, plus ESPN+ gives you much better content. No brainer in my book.

And ESPN + VPN is month to month, no need for an annual commitment. Nobody should ever be buying Flo at their prices, even the discounted prices.

Apparently Broussia Cincy Gladbach's ownership has sold out their fan base with a Flo streaming deal.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That was apparently a glitch. Go figure, the amateurs couldn't find their ass with both hands, but they'll prolly not screw that up next time.

    Egads the timing with FCC.

    I'm not subscribing anytime soon.

FCC's situation is at least somewhat different as you can still watch the game on TV in Cincinnati.

Seems like the surrounding regions are stuck with Flo, though.

Streaming a pre season game would have been the perfect opportunity! Amazing that nobody came up with that idea. :whistling:

I tried this last season and it worked for one game. After that, it still didn't work as ESPN+ figured me out some how. Any more directions 'cause I don't have much of a brain. FLO was as bad as the worst predicted and I'm ready to cancel my FLO sub.

Sent an email to my ticket rep and Chris Hull this morning expressing my dissatisfaction. As usual, Chris Hull responded immediately and said he would pass on the comments. I know Flo and the FO is getting beat up today, I just wanted to add my two cents as well from a STM trying to watch at home with a Roku. I feel sorry for the FCC fans now, they have to watch an expansion club and they get Flo. What will be interesting is what happens with the next broadcast. Will there by buffering and geo-access issues? Do Dave and Devon get to go to the next road game? Ci vediamo.

I don't have a VPN either. Sounds like voodoo to me. Hope I don't need to get one and try it.

ESPN+ is dynamite for me. I too was able to watch the game on ESPN+ when this disaster happened with FLO (I have not and would not subscribe to it). I watch boxing, ufc, cricket, soccer, basketball, etc. on ESPN+, for $50 a year. Like you said, a no-brainer if tou can afford the money. The problem is, the only reason I could watch my own team yesterday was because of this screw-up by FLO. Otherwise, ESPN+ would have been blocked, correct? What a joke.

It was really a fortunate coincidence for Flo and DC brass that ESPN+ worked for many fans (when it was supposed to be blacked out). Otherwise Flo would be getting hammered today many more times than they actually are.

I think the blackout restrictions for ESPN+ were another Flo/United screw-up that was fortunate to help many. The black out worked for some and not others. The event was blacked out for me, but I was able to select and watch regardless.

I know a lot of people have had mixed results using ESPN+ with VPNs. I can't guarantee that route would work for anyone in the future. Success or failure of watching the stream was likely unrelated this weekend.

I was using a Sky Sports feed, but it wasn't super fantastic. I signed up for the 7 day ESPN+ trial, and while it was blacked out for me in Ashburn, it worked fine over VPN. I might keep it - a lot of content for $4.99/month, and it's truly monthly.

The only thing with this is that the soccer channel (Sirius XM FC) does not only play the local game ... but instead is a national broadcast. Which means that you typically are not going to get the team or game of your choice.

Well that means that FC Cincinnati and CONCACAF need to be looking for new staffs as well. I wonder if I could get a CONCACAF job?!

On a per game basis, DC earned something like $150,000 from Flo on Sunday. Feigning outrage and giggling like schoolgirls behind their hands is more like it.

I read that Flo is giving DCU $13M for the number of the years they stipulated the contract for (4?), could that be? I wouldn't believe it even if they were counting them in front of my eyes in pennies.

I'll pay DC United $13 and promise the same level of service Flo TV gave them.

Scott Allen of WaPo (via the DC Sports Bog) wrote another article about the FloSports coverage, including some quotes from Mark Floreani, a co-founder of FloSports. The article includes an updated coverage map (which splits Hampton Roads in half, which I find hilarious).
