I don't think Thomas provides any spin, just the context of the debate. I agree that the bill's sponsor's website certainly would be very "pro". IMHO, the annotated text of the bill is more useful, since you can see the effects of the changes on the overall wording of the original legislation. Also, please note that I changed the wording of my post because it seemed like I was going after you, and I didn't mean it that way.
I agree, and all I am trying to point out is that this would have been easier (and, I believe, you would have been more effective in winning people to your side) if more information had been provided up front.
http://evm2003.sourceforge.net/ The reason for a printed receipt is such - you can easily verify that the vote you just cast does indeed match what you intended to vote. You then drop the receipt (or a duplicate) into a lock box. This way, if there is a problem with the electronic count, a paper-based recount is possible. Personally, I took the time to check my punch ballot this time for chads, and to verify the correct number was punched thru for President.
