    Great article.

I just hope the rivalry isn't shoved in our faces but rather grow organically.

I feel like many New Yorkers will rep New York City FC because it sounds infinitely cooler than the "Red Bulls" - I think it's cool that a company would invest in the team like that, but I really liked the "Metrostars" and was an early fan. I think they should really consider changing the name back now that they have some local competition! Red Bull can still keep their logos on the uniforms, they even can keep their name on the stadium, just give us our Metrostars back!

Too bad they really dropped the ball on Lampard. Otherwise I think NYCFC could have won the battle by landslide with the Petke mess and the general discontent at RedBulls. Instead both NY teams are going into the season with massive question marks from the fans.

I would have supported NYRB had they built a stadium in BK, Queens or the Bronx.

I'm a Manhattan resident, and I didnt like the commute to Harrison, NJ.

    MTA and Path? No thanks.

How hard is it to get to Red Bull Arena from Manhattan?

Pretty easy by car. About an hour and a half by subway, train, and foot.

1.5 hours via subway is correct. If you're a Jersey City resident it's easy-peasy of course. But the almost 2 hour commute to Harrison, NJ is bad..

Wow! That takes longer than I assumed. That's how long it takes me to get to Downtown Orlando from north Tampa.

Heh, you're right about that. I lived in Tampa for 16 years (Carrollwood).
