Wow, so yeah, you just picked a lot of players that were really famous great 5 years ago.

Except for Beckenbauer. He still has a lot to offer.

Mia Hamm for me.It's a real shame that she had to retire before Beckham's arrival.Mia and Beckham would've formed a great partnership...

I'd LOVE to see FenoFootball play in a scrimmage with RBNY. Watching Dema break his leg in 7 places without batting an eye would be like Mardi Gras, St Patty's Day, Cinco De Mayo, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve all rolled into one.

I'd like to see some more brits like Dalglish. I think bringing in several players who have had low profile carreers in the EPL (Xavier) is a better move than bringing in one beckham.

I think chivas needs to sign one of two big name mexicans, perhaps borghetti or trade for orsorno. Why the hell is Castillo playing in Ukraine er w/e he is?

Finally I'd like to see McBride, Convey, Onyewu, and some other americans back in the league. I guess convey could have a few more years but he should bring dempsey back with him

Honestly, I'm more interested in bringing in investors, expansion teams, and coaches than I am with individual players.

As we all know, Shevchenko will most likely be in MLS soon and I think that would be great. He may be past his prime but AC Milan still want him and he did score a few great goals for Chelsea last year. He is more talented than JPA....and I think he would come over here at a reasonable price.

Ronaldo is another, people say he is fat and well past his prime but again....if he is good enough for AC Milan then he is good enough for MLS and he would have a mini-Beckham effect in that it would create alot of buzz, he would sell alot of shirts and attendance would be big for his first matches in all the away cities. He could also score 20 goals easily in MLS if he stayed healthy.

So those two are very realistic within the next 2 or 3 years and both would probably be pretty good even if it was 2009 before they came.

In the same style as Ronaldo you could look at Adriano too, who is out of favor with Inter but could still score lots of goals for most Euro clubs. Then you have Crespo, who I would not be suprised to see here in the next few years.

So I think the most realistic options for some talented yet slightly mature players are

    Shevchenko
    Ronaldo
    Adriano
    Crespo

ronaldo is fat? nah, he is not as fit as he used to. but he is a lot more slow now.

    rony would be great!

more people i would love to see.

    Martin Palermo (heck yeah)
    Nery Castillo: he is great
    Raul
    Nistelrooy
    Cannavaro
    Memo Ochoa
    materazzi

    Muneco Gallardo
    Burrito Ortega
    Juanpi
    Nery Cardozo
    Palacio

    Lavolpe
    Helguera
    Matute MOrales
Vargaz (he is playin in brazil i think)
    Cavenagui (what happened to him?)
    Klebber
    Coloccini
    Solari
    seedorf
    deco
    vicente
    marchena
    albelda
    zambrotta
    guti
    thuran

coaches, def Lippi and Capello, maybe Peregrini or Ranieri, Maradiaga, Bora, Pasarella.

Is not like we could afford,

kaka, messi, dos santos, diego, fabregas, gago, sergio ramos, rivery, snejder, quaresma, c ronaldo, cicinho, etoo, dinho, dany alves, nino torres, villa, robinho, baptista, diarra... that would be awesome.

i wonder out of that list, who would be available in terms of money, or who would want to come to the states.

A good list. I have a hunch Ballack might be at a similar point in his career.

    I'd like to see

Rooney Ronaldo Tevez Giggs Hargreaves Scholes Carrick Ferdinand
Van der Saar Cech Lampard Terry Drogba The Coles Malouda Torres Gerrard Carragher Alonso Gallas Van Persie

All so the rest of us stand a chance of winning the league ;)

We'll keep Lehman for the comedy value though!
