I think the Frenchies are a darkhorse to win the whole thing. '02 was an aberration.

    Repped.

I think France will be perfectly happy with little to no attention going into this World Cup. Close to home, and with Henry, Trezeguet, Zidane leading the attack, they surely have some goals in them.

    Thou doth speak the truth.

But sadly England will beat them in the final. Rooney to score a hattrick in the last minute as revenge for last time.

In 2002, the team was shattered by the humidity and long season - don't really prepare for it and had an unfit Zizou for 1 game against Denmark.

Yup. very poor preparation both physical and mental, no group spirit either. And on top of that, not the slightest amount of luck...

This said, I don't feel that confident, it can go either way in this WC. The only thing I want is to be wrong ! ;)

Both Henry, Trezeguet and Cisse finished top scorers in their domestic leagues at end of that season and all 3 couldn't hit a barn door.

France have a good draw up until the quarters. Under Ray, the quarters are a good goal, beyond that its a bonus, anything elss than that and I would say its a failure.

Couldn't give a shit if he weighed 400lbs. As long as he bangs them in Germany.

    Moderator meltdown.

Mind you, Randy is limbering up for the Italy v France showdown soon. :D

    Oh my.

Thought France were done in that one, Italy seemed in control.

Couldn't give a shit if he had an IQ of 30 as long as he yadda-yadda-yadda...

This is also what I think. Let's face it, we can't really count on Ray to win the damn thing ; so, our main hope is that a 'miracle' happens in this group of players during the competition which would make them quasi-invincible.
