True... a bit on the old-ish side...but a pretty much all of them are well known faces...players people around the world would recognize.... In the 90's Cobi was the most recognized American soccer player outside the US... Simon Allen World Soccer Wrap This weeks show we have ChivaGirl Kortney guest hosting... (sorry...had to do a plug...its become second nature)
Brennan is definately the "face" of TFC. He was the first signed, a local boy, and the captain. Dichio is a cult hero and gets sung for the most. O'Brien is easily our best player but has been injured so much of the year that he's probably relatively unknown outside of the season ticket holders and hardcore followers. Ironically Eskadarian (sp?) was at one point marketed as the other face of the team (he's still on the huge billboards by the staduim visible to drivers on Toronto's main highway to downtown) but then was traded away shortly after Dichio's arrival. Mike.
I agree with all these, but from what its worth this guy Wynne seems to LOVE the team/city/fans. In all the interviews I've seen you would think he was born and raised in Toronto.
Wynne is one of the better players for sure and a fan favourite as well. but he isn't promoted by the team.
The face of NY Red Bulls? Jon Conway, looking backwards from the ground to watch his teammate's backpass go into the net.
Preface: by "face" I'm not saying the best player, but rather the few players that more that maybe 25%-30% of the people in the stands would recognize on the street. DC United - Moreno, Gomez kind of Real Salt Lake - Pope.... after this year I'm not sure anyone will qualify as the "face" Colorado - N/A RB New York - Angel, Altidore, Reyna, in a few years hopefully Richards Columbus - Hejduk, Schellotto Chivas USA - Suarez, in a few years hopefully Bornstein TFC - Robinson or maybe N/A Kansas City - EJ, Conrad (Marinelli's actually their best player tho) FC Dallas - Ruiz, Denilson, and definitely in a couple years Toja Houston Dynamo - DeRosario, Ching New England - Twellman, Reis, Noonan kind of, Joseph kind of sort of Chicago - Blanco LA Galaxy - Alan Gordon
You think 25-30% of Columbus fans would recognize Schelotto but 25-30% of Colorado fans wouldn't recognize Mastroeni?
The names/faces I think of when I see a clubs name: New York: Angel/Altidore/Mathis DC United: Moreno/Olsen maybe Gomez of Emilio New England: Twellman/Ralston/Heaps Columbus: Hejduk maybe schelloto and szetela <-b/c he's been there since a kid prodigy (there true faces like McBride, Cunningham, Friedel are gone) KC Wizards: Johnson/Conrad Toronto: Dicchio/Edu Chicago: Rolfe/ now Blanco maybe Armas Houston: DeRos/Ching/Clark Chivas: Razov/Bornstein/Galindo LA: Beckham/Donovan/Jones Dallas: Cooper/Ruiz/ Nunez (not anymore) Colorado: Masteroni/Gomez RSL: Findley/Pope/ used to think Ballouchy, Adu, Cunningham Thats who I think of when I think of these teams. Doesn't neccesarily mean the faces of the teams though. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Masteroni, any US soccer fan would know. And Denilson, I didn't even know who he was until this signing, and probably wouldn't recognize him on the street.
