    "Unfortunately, either I'm the only one who knows about it, or I'm the only one who's concerned about it, but nothing's getting done. The problem: we are good at soccer."
    Glenn Davis played this quote on his radio show last week. The identity of the person he was quoting might surprise you. I'll update it tomorrow with the answer. I'm interested in everyone's guesses.

    Yeah, you got me. It's Jim Rome. Glenn Davis, during his weekly radio show last week, was using the quote to say that even Jim Rome is getting on board wit this U.S. team for the World Cup.

    Did it seem like Romey was getting on board with soccer? It's hard to tell from the context. He could easily follow it up with his usual diatribe of ...It's not a sport if:

    0 - 0 is considered a good game;
    fans kill other fans
    yada yada

    Being a "former" Rome listener due to all the negative soccer remarks, that sounded to me like classic Rome sarcasim.:p

    That surprizes me that he'd say something positive...Jim Rome is usually a prick. Think to when he was calling Jim Everett Chris and got his ass beaten on national television. Ouch.

    do I recall hearing that his kids now play soccer? Probably he now watches soccer instead of just yapping.

    I'll always remember Everett for dropping back against the Niners in the NFC Championship game and then hearing footsteps.....he falls to the ground to avoid a tackle that was nowhere in sight....there he lay in the pocket, on the ground...self-tackled....with not a Niner in sight....

    Chrissie Everett in a nutshell.

    Go Niners.
