Guess no more affiliation....... http://www.whitecapsfc.com/news/2014/07/wfc-announces-intent-usl-pro-new-west
Could Charleston still affiliate with ATL or even MIA in the future? Or does team go back to a stand alone operation?
my thoughts and heard some others thinking the same thing, was the Vancouver "loans" actually hurt the Battery this season. Getting a number of players on paper looks great and even some of them did well, but they didn't stay long enough to impact the Battery season. While the coach makes the decision on the game day roster, I can't help but think he would have been better served finding his own players that he knew were going to be around for the season. The Battery may opt to do the affiliation thing again but I think they will look long and hard at it in the off season
Kind of been my concern with this since the beginning. Great for league stability absolutely fantastic, but not a panacea - especially on the competitive side.
I'm hoping that NYCFC might announce something in conjunction with the challenge cup. I would imagine Kreis and Reyna would trust the Battery more than other USL Pro clubs. And I can't see NYCFC creating their own USL Pro club for '15 at this point.
