Looks like Whitbread is on the bench. Him and the 19 yr old fullback, Barragan are the two defenders on the bench.

    Liverpools starting lineup:

    Reina
    Carragher
    Finnan
    Hyypia
    Warnock
    Alonso
    Gerrard
    Luis Garcia
    Riise
    Cisse
    Morientes

    Subs:
    Carson
    Barragan
    Whitbread
    Hamann
    Sissoko
    Baros

While he likely won't get any playing time, its still pretty cool he is on the bench for such a key game.

    To listen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/fivelive.shtml

2-0 Liverpool, Cisse then Morientes, coming up to halftime now.

For all the crap we give espn, check this out. The first goal was missed as the radio switched over to give live play-by-play of a 400m race in Helsinki. BBC hates soccer!

Hyppia assisted on the first, I think. Carra playing well. Whitbread could get a run out if the scoreline continues to widen, as Rafa may want to save some legs for this weekend's match.

    Thanks for the link, tj.

Whitbread started the second leg last time after Liverpool were up 3-1 in the first leg.

    CSK just score, btw.

    2-1 Liverpool

Indeed. 2-1. Now halftime. Poor marking on a corner, iirc.

That's the half. Riot police needed to ensure safety of Liverpool players as they head for the tunnel.

"When Cisse opens his legs, he's hard to handle."

Really only follow the prem and MLS closely. Bit of a Liverpool fan. Fringe PSG and Sao Paulo supporter as well.

Other than the goals, how do Moro and Cisse seem to be getting along Irish?

They haven't linked up much to be honest. Morientes has been a bit sloppy but has been a tank in the air. Cisse is dropping back a lot and is really trying to get more involved in the game. The second half should be interesting what with CSKA scoring just before half time.

They may have to. No one else seems to want him. He's just not the same in club competition as he is playing for the Czech Republic. Everything I've heard says he's a last resort for Rafa and that he's been given specific instructions only to use him in case of emergency (i.e. CSKA take a 3-2 lead).

I wouldn't say that no one else wants him. 6 million pounds have been turned down as 'Pool holds out for 7.

If Benitez uses Baros tonight his value will decrease to something like £1.5 million which would interest a lot of smaller premiership clubs.

Hell, if Baros is at 1.5M, MLS should sign the guy in a heartbeat.

3-1. Moro again. Sounds like the keeper made a mistake.

Motientes hit a low drive from around 8 yards that went through the keepers hands and then in.

Haha. Does that make it two goals that have gone right through the keeper? Thought Cisse went through his legs.

Morientes with a great glancing header and a great save by the keeper.

Cisse's goal went under the keeper when he was on the ground.

1.5M pounds is the equivilant of the salary cap in MLS.

game over. cska 1, liverpool 3.

    gerrard assisted on all 3.

liverpool undefeated in this new season, and have won every CL game by 2 or more goals.

    no whitbread.

    nothing more to say.
