I would love a Bermuda trip.
Monumental waste of time for us. I'm not trying to be a snob but the only thing that does is have the potential for our players to get injured.
How come Bermuda has a TD and we don't? Don't answer that. And was he slamming our US-based players? Don't answer that, either. A trip to Bermuda does sound fun.

Well, if they had managed to hold it together at home versus Trinidad & Tobago last weekend we would be going there in a couple months.
Been to Bermuda twice myself on cruises. It's expensive but I wouldn't mind taking a flight down there, spending a day at Horseshoe Bay and then catching the game.
Actually, I think this is a good friendly. Personally, I'd like to see just what the fringe players can do. If this friendly happened in August, I'd like to see this roster (*=Starter): I mean, what the heck. Qualification is a long-winded bitch, and it's good to see where some fringe players stand. GK: Seitz*, Hahnemman DF's: Wynne*, Gibbs*, Parkhurst*, Russell*, Moor, Hill, Randolph MF's: Rogers*, Shea*, McCarty*, Thorrington*, Mapp, Gaven, Nguyen FW's: Buddle*, Jaqua*, Cooper, Davies
I think we should go there and bring our full team. No need to shun the minnows. Teams like Spain, Argentina and Brazil brought their big guys for us, why not give back and do the same for some small nation?
What about a pre-Olympic warm-up for the U23s? Nice little vacation, some time to get on the same page before facing real competition, etc. And yes, I know it won't happen, but just wanted to throw it out there.
I think the gulf between Argentina/Brazil and the US is a lot smaller than US-Bermuda. If want to send guys who usually don't get capped or our U-23 team, that's fine. I'd be pretty upset if we sent Donovan, Howard, Dempsey, etc. to play a friendly at Bermuda.
I have the confidence that we are strong enough defensively that we would hold together to get the win against Bermuda.
I think this would be a good friendly before the Guatemala game and a good way to get a look at some of the fringe players Bradley has been ignoring. Or, it would be a good tune-up for the 23s, pre-Beijing.
But would Bradley use it like that? Or would he bring in the same guys he always does hoping for a 3-0 win to quiet the anti-Bradley crowd?
Did anyone else read the thread title a little too quickly and think that Bradley wanted to play a game against ourselves? And I agree with Sandon that this could be a nice cupcake game (or tune-up) before Guatemala. Circumstances like these explain why countries like Andorra sometimes get disproportionately high-profile friendlies.
This is a key point. Bermuda was fairly close to earning a spot in the semi-final stage, and H/A series v three "bigger" nations. unlucky for them that that didn't work out. I guess we'll see if the US is indeed interested in traveling for a friendly there. what would the appearance fee be?
consult your atlas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbados =/= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bermuda http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/nccamerica/standings/round12.html
Neither the article or any of the posts on this thread have mentioned that the last time we played at Bermuda we lost, 1-0. Fall 1990, iirc. Gansler's last game.
Actually, at times I do. I don't mean his critics here or in the media. Maybe critics is not the right word. I guess I meant rack up wins to keep his record good and impress the USSF. I know he's made a lot of call ups, and capped a lot of guys, but he's also balked at opportunities to get some of these younger players caps or more playing time while still giving a lot of time to guys like Keller (Copa America...Guzan should have started every match), Lewis (he can help in qualifiers, doubt he'll be around in '10 due to age, but shouldn't really play a lot or start in friendlies).
Actually it was Feb. 1991. And this was around the same time we lost to Hungary 2-0, barely beat Malta and lost to North Korea.
You only say that because of your personal relationship with Broadley. I have a more optimistic view and while I cannot think of a reason to keep him as coach I don't like to argue with those in power. Oh. Sorry. Thought I was someone else.
