According to the FCD blog last week, the team would be bringing in a new player, whom most of us would recognize, next week.

Well, now it is next week.

    Where is he?

    JPM in Mexico City. Unimpressive.

It was Shaka... the "blogger" did not intend to mislead.

He's there, just because you recognize him, doesn't mean he's any good. I can easily recognize Eric Quill, for example.

NASCAR rigged it, no way he has a car that much faster than anyone else. Considering the engine trouble he's had so far this season, his crew just became geniuses over night? Pshhh...whatever. So far, count me in the solidly dissapointed column when it comes to Montoya.

Shaka, Nunez, and Wallace are names we all recognize. They were in Brazil on Saturday. That would be last week. The name we would recognize is supposed to come into camp this week. I could have misunderstood; in that case, it was simply poorly stated. I suppose the staff has realized the team is just not very good, so it could have been a deliberate decpetion. Or, they could actaully have someone ready. SM really did have targets other than Davids. In which case, where is he?

I am not surprised at all by JPM. It will take him a year to get used to a car that is twice as heavy, half as powerful, and you actaully have to drive. It will take Toyota a while as well. Wait until JPM has to tangle with talented road racers like Smoke, Ricky Rudd, and that bastard Jeff Gordon. Speaking of Gordon, what to you think would happen to JPM if he spun out Robbie Gordon, like he did to his team mate on Sunday?

I believe it was just poorly stated. Other targets doesn't mean they are actually able to sign them. Just like they weren't able to sign Davids. They really should have kept the Davids thing as quiet as possible.

He's been able to win as a rookie in other circuits, so I expected him to be able to win in NASCAR.

How long did it take Smoke to get up to speed?

Bahh...all the cars are the same, there is no difference between Chevy, Ford or any other. That's just something for the fanboys to get excited about. It's not like there aren't experienced NASCAR crew members working on the team.

Smoke does it all the time and gets away with it. ;)

That's because smoke is not afraid to kick some a$$ if anybody has a problem with the way he drives (unlike most of the younger ********** boys that are racing now), I guess we will see about Montoya.

I suppose it just was poorly put. All the blogger had to post is something along the lines of "Shaka Hislop, Anthony Wallace, and Ramon Nunez will join the team in Brazil after dealing with personel bussiness." Then we would not have expected a big signing.

Perhaps as big as JPM was for Penske. Penske is great ion the IRL, but lags in NASCAR. Interesting to see Junior (Sam not Dale) racing stock cars. Sure, Stewart made his mark in a year, but only because he is Smoke.

    20 20 20 20 20 20 20

It took Toyota abot a year in trucks. Toyota will not allow thier signature driver to keep missing races, nor will Buffy hesitate to allow TRD engineers to build new engines.

What would JPM do about Robbie Gordon? Throw brie at him? Robbie is a legend in Mexico as well, you know.
