i placed them 5-9. even if we keep a top 5 place before the window, the accomodation of new players (ill believe it when i see it) may slow our momentum. if we lose bent to injury for any period of time, i just cant see any of our current forward line doing the fantastic job that marcus has done. which means reverting back to the 4-4-2 which i believe exposes carsleys lack of pace and gravesens chicken-headed nature. dear santa, this transfer window.... a new centre-back with pace and experience to compliment yobo (eventually). a right back who can cross (hibberts achilles heel) a left back who actually looks like he enjoys playing football gravesens signature right/left winger ala kanchelskis at least 2 new forwards - tevez would be lovely nick.
I also placed them 5-9. It may change, though, depending on what happens in January with our Judas money.
Somewhere between fifth and ninth would be nice. I think most (some?) of us have pushed our expectations beyond avoiding relegation and are at least looking for a top-half finish. I, on other hand, will worry about top-halves and European places after we've hit the 40-point mark.
Tricky one. Anywhere between 7th and 17th knowing us. Im holding out for a uefa place but I can see us dropping to about 8th/9th by the end of the season.(which considering what we all expected is still pretty good). Hope Im wrong though.
I was lookin for the thread from beginning of the year where we were all forecasting Division One after Judas broke his foot in the Euros... I really wanna bump that one...but alas...cant find it
hehe, today is a nice change from the gloom and doom from then! Funny how most of us had us finishing in the top half of the table, despite Judas' exit.
My fantasy league team's called 17th will do, sums up how I felt in July, I was juist hoping we didn't go bust!
Must have missed this one but would probably gone with 5th-9th like most of you. What position were we in when this thread started I wonder, 3rd? The critics were right, we slumped down to 4th
