The Front Office has been so on top of things as of late it wouldn't be surprising to me if they organized something.

i wonder if they might open RFK to watch it on the big screen? (although it is kinda high up, and your neck might hurt).

I am also interested in attending a local watch party with supporters and BIG TV's. And beer on tap.

I got a better idea, why don't they move the MLS Cup to RFK!

Kilroys is kinda 'Chico's place, and I beileve both HE and Scruggsy are going to LA, so that leaves us without those two, erm, outstanding patrons :D it might be a lot different. then again the staff at kilroys are pretty friendly regardless, and we all know their a great place for food and drinks. Ill go if thats where it is..prefer it over summers.

Dave Brother mentioned he was throwing a house party...?

Fans in Richmond- any idea where we might convene? I'm thinking Penny Lane Pub as that's a good place to watch soccer, but I'm not sure if they have a big tv screen. I shall call and inquire...

    Failing that, I dunno... Mulligans?

    Dave Brother who??

    :D

It's definitely a possibility, however....if we could have a viewing party at RFK that's where we would be!!!

    Here's an idea:

There are those new (AEG-owned) Regal Cinemas at Gallery Place...

I wonder if they're hooked up for HDTV broadcasts like some Regal Cinemas in other cities (that have shown HDNet broadcasts of MLS matches in the past...). It would be sort of a short time to promote such a viewing party, but it would also be pretty cool.

Summers has the advantage that it's on the Metro, is a little more centrally located (not as far for MD fans), and that the ownership are hardcore soccer fans. But OTOH, it's small-ish; combine its size with the fact that the place will be mostly full of people there to watch NFL football, and I don't think it's the best option. Kilroy's is big, we'd get space, and even though Chico won't be there I think they'll be good to us.

The place will be jammed full of NFL fans. Too bad the dickhead at the Exchange screwed things up with Uniteds Front office because that would be a great place to watch it, but I also heard he's no longer there so if fans want to take it upon themselves to show (Without the FO's involvment) it might be worth a phone call.

    btw....I'll be in LA :)

I'm going to Summers today (to plan for a post season SE event, details coming soon!) and I'll ask Joe about next Sunday and NFL. The Regal Cinema idea is intriguing but there would be no beer, no?

I'll be quite frank, I wouldn't count on DCU to come up with something. They're jetting on Thurs for MLS meetings and I'm sure they have other stuff on their plates before then. I also wouldn't count on RFK (what if it rains or is cold, it is Nov!)

Realistically most bars are going to have NFL on so we might have to reserve a place with a deposit (and to recoup this there might be a cover charge. Are people OK with that?) I can set something up (what the hell, I'm not doing anything else this week ;) but I'm looking for a little guidance on what people are willing to spend and how far willing to travel (I'd aim for a place on metro).

If people just want to go to Kilroy's and Summers that's cool too.

I haven't been there in a while, but doesn't the Lucky Bar still show a lot of soccer?

    Good point...

I'm not sure if there is beer or not, though that's certainly a deal-breaker. They could theoretically get a one day license for such an event, but getting anything together there (and getting the word out) in a week's time might be a tall order, anyway.

Maybe sometime in the future, though...

The State theatre in Virginia shows Monday Night Football on their big screen:

    http://www.thestatetheatre.com/

Maybe they would set something up for DC United?

Anyone know if ABC is going to show the game in HD?

attn K....summers sucks...the food sucks..the service sucks...and if you live in the VA suburbs...the parking sucks....get over it...been avoiding that place for 5 years...geez ....loose the bit..I will never go there again...:p
When are people gonna realize that there are other realities besides yours?

By the way, Saturdays Banner party was a cluster fbck...nice organize and flee...

I have spoken with Glory Days Springfield..Jim doubts he can get us on a big screen before 4:30 due to NFL games...

I fear that we will run into the same problem in most sports bars...the NFL wienies have more money and more pull,,,, damn MLS for making it a Sunday match
