Just got back from Italy. While in Florence, Heart of Midlothian played Fiorentina. (European Conference League) Didn't make it to the game but talked to a few Hears fans - older guys because they weren't drunk and could chat. Hearts fans were in solid voice around the Duomo. When in Venice, Venezia FC had a home game. I was on a boat to one of the out island when we passed by the stadium. Lots of flags waving. Right or wrong, I got an AS Roma light jacket and a Lazio pullover.

I went to Namibia and South Africa last month. Hit up a Kaizer Chiefs game (named after the old NASL Atlanta Chiefs). This is FNB Stadium where the 2010 WC final was held. Lots of passion, but you get lost in such a big venue.

All I see are the Cow Pies vs the Sheep Shits. It’s a messy battle.

That’s just always out there? Tell me why I would go to work 8 hours a day 5 days a week till I’m dead instead of going places and seeing things before I die? I’m going to Bloomington Indiana next weekend yay? I got an offer to go to Ohio but I couldn’t bring myself to sit through an American football game and Ohio. I need to get out before I get too old. Maybe backpacking would be a good way to do it cheap?

Since moving south to Kentucky during the deep dark days of Covid I've been attempting to discover the cool stuff down this way and while Bloomington on the surface doesn't scream out to be the travel mecca of say Paris, France there are some interesting things in the state of Indiana that kind of surprised me. Nashville, Indiana/ Brown County is kind of a hep place to visit and is VERY close to Bloomington. There's an old growth pine tree forest that looks like Germany over there and some tourist spots, cabins, camping, nature. Also wifey and I discovered this guy "Adventures with Roger" and he's going to all these odd historical and unique places in Indiana that I wouldn't otherwise know about. The Stonehenge of Elkinsville comes to mind and to get there from Bloomington you would have to drive 55 minutes through both the Yellowwood State Forest and Nashville, Indiana to get there. Might consider it?
