We have a reading thread, a movie thread, a drinking thread, and maybe others I can’t remember. But do we have a travel thread? Earlier this year I was able to visit Machu Picchu. Currently I’m on Easter Island. Where are you?
Easter Island, a great place for head.....allegedly. Seriously, that is awesome. Definitely a place on my list to visit. Have a great time, my friend.
White/Blue Which are your favorite German cities outside of München to watch World Cup matches? (As far as pubs and fan fests and general atmosphere in town during the tourney) I plan on being in Germany during June - was thinking Düsseldorf and Hamburg - Can't suggest Bavaria again to my travel mates as we've been there numerous times.
Where the ******** am I? I'm where I usually am on weekends, on the recliner with a cat, or puppy nearby. TAKE THAT YOU WANDERING BASTARDS!!!
When you asked for German cities the first city that came to my head was Nuremberg but since you ruled Bavaria out Id go for Cologne/Düsseldorf. Dresden also is always worth a visit
Everyone talks about Bourbon St. but Frenchmen St. is where it’s at down in New Orleans. The drive to see the Tabasco factory is nice, too.
Y'all are allowed to leave the country? I'm heading down to Memphis Thursday for the weekend. Planning to hit Central BBQ, Ghost River Brewery and Rendezvous over the course of the stay- any recs from the peanut gallery here?
Agreed. Also some fun places on Decatur St., especially The Abbey. Also, The Dungeon on Toulouse is pretty good. Bourbon St. just smells like vomit most of the time.
Only cool place I went this year was Gettysburg for the 16th time or something. I try to get out to the August Bluegrass Camp-o-ree. I did capture some orbs on my cell phone camera and despite my leftist leanings I would have to say this IS an appropriate place for Confederate statues mmm kay?
I have a friend who is on big USA trip at the moment and he drove(!) all the way from Orlando via Atlanta and Nashville to Memphis. On Friday he sent me the following message: "Well I guess you have to be an Elvis fan for this to be fun." Rendezvous was nice though as Ive been told
lol damn, thanks for the warning. Guess it will be long visit for me then. Seems like they have nice enough breweries that I can at least be blackout drunk for most of it. Off to the 'what are you drinking' thread I go.
I was really into the Civil War when I was little and we went to Gettysburg one year. It was fun. I got to berate a reenactor about Pickett's Charge.
I'm having more fun than expected in Biloxi. I had moderate expectations but this place has far exceeded them. I love a good surprise. Also, the never ending jokes about the IP Casino are refreshingly juvenile.
