    DC, baby. Logan Circle neighborhood.

Best way to get to RFK from my house if you're in a rush: cab ride! With tip, it's the same price as parking, but you can drink all you want, then take the Metro home or wherever.

A suburban stadium would suck, but as long as it was Metro accessible, I'd be okay. I don't have a car, though, so if it wasn't on the Metro, I'd be hosed. I'd find a way, but it would suck. Yea, verily, it would suck.

We're in Montgomery County, but we're only about a mile from the P.G. County line and about 2 miles from the DC line.

I think what this poll really tells us is that of the 15,000 folks that go to DCU games on average, only about 200 peruse BigSoccer. That's less than 2%.

You had better be kidding. Proud Virginian that I am, this is still the DC METRO AREA. Since everything around here revolves around the city, it's only fitting that DC United stay DC UNITED. When others hear the name DC United, they don't think of the team from Ashburn, VA or Bowie, MD. They think of the club that represents Washington, District of Columbia.

How exactly does staying in DC limit the team? Bear in mind that stadium services don't hinder DCU's on-pitch performance.

How does saying DC (which stands for District of Columbia, as you know) imply the lack of a connection to the city?

Your argument is flawed at best and insane at worst. In the short existence of this glorious club, DC United has ably represented this city across the nation and around the world, and established DC as a city of champions when no other local sports team could do it :(. The past few seasons aside, United makes me proud to be a Washingtonian-by-proxy. Just because our vaunted sports media outlets (namely, those "Machine"-like ones) like to think we don't exist and therefore have no Redskins-like connection to DC doesn't mean it isn't true; after all, we're not in Landover, are we? ;)

(and besides, I've never heard of someone jumping the United ship, unlike a lot of Skins "fans" I know...)

Interesting that it's 2:1 VA:MD. I would have guessed there were more people in VA than MD, but not twice as many.

Well, some of us in Maryland don't live in one of better defined choices. I put down "Outside the DC Metro Area". I'm sure there's more than just me and shawn12011 in Baltimore.

I voted for MD Suberb even though now that I think about it I should have probably voted for outside of the DC Metro Area.

DC United: A great name, makes me think about this stupid region someday thinking about itself as a unit, rather than as competing counties and states.

RFK is a great place to see soccer, and it would be a stupid waste of money to build a stadium. It is in the right place, it has great acoustics when it is filled. It ROCKS! The '94 World Cup--Holland vs Saudi. Too Orange for My Shirt!

RFK is a 15 minute drive down the parkway from my house. RFK is centrally located for our areas population and transportation system. Putting a new stadium in the burbs would be dumb.

That means it will probably be built in Prince William County. NOVA: "Who needs planning? I'll get to the game/store/job using my personal gyrocopter!"

I've actually used that phrase to describe RFK before. :D
