I have tried looking everywhere around me. i saw some jerseys at galyans but they are all man u and well im not a man u fan! just wondering where i can get good jerseys and also at a reasonable price. thanks
Oh, wow. Where do I begin? Hmmm... Well, I first looked up Macomb. You're kinda out in the boonies, aren't ya? The chance that you have a soccer speciality shop are remote. I don't know how often you go to larger towns like Springfield or even Chicago, but if you do visit major metropolises (metropoli?), get ahold of their yellow pages and look under "soccer shops" or "sporting goods". This can also be done over the internet before you go. Most soccer shops have at least a smattering of replica jerseys, usually the very most popular ones; i.e. Brazil National Team, Man U, Ajax, U.S. National Team, etc. A few have a more extensive range. The soccer shop I visit in the Twin Cities area here in Minnesota is Soccer USA in Blaine. They have a larger than usual selection for a soccer shop. Your best bet, though, is the internet. I have obtained the vast majority of my collection through the world wide net. Here are a few different types of sources, in no particular order: Internet auctions: A fast way to build a cheap collection. Ebay is very reliable. Also a good way to find older jerseys and the occasional hard to find rarity. However, a lot of fake (unofficial) jerseys are sold there. Refer to the "All time fake ebay jerseys" string on this board for more info. Also the condition of the jerseys can vary greatly. While it is very seldom that jerseys with holes or split seams are offered, pulls, bobbles, and general wear is a bit more common. Make sure to check the item listing completely before bidding. Official team stores: Most soccer teams in the major soccer-playing countries have official websites with webshops. These can be found by using a good search engine or soccer links site (soccernova.com, for instance) The prices tend to be a bit on the higher end, although not the highest. But the selection of merchandise is excellent (want a Schalke 04 toothbrush?) and you can be absolutely sure the product is official. Incidently, sites that don't have a shop do have addresses, both e- and snailmail, along with phone numbers, by which you can contact the team directly to inquire about the availability of their kit. Soccer webstores: This has been the source I have utilised the most. There are literally dozens of legitimate webstores. Some sell just used or unworn vintage jerseys. Most sell new and/or unworn jerseys. A few even specialise in game-worn and/or autographed jerseys (these are usually the most expensive, though). Prices can vary greatly, but many great deals can be found there. A few of the webstores that I have ordered multiple shirts from without incident are subsidesports.com (the best selection, by far), soccerplus.net (good selection, particularly Central and South American clubs), and footballnotmuggybonehead.com (no, I'm not making this one up) which specialises in vintage jerseys. The average price range for an unworn jersey is about $55 to $75. However, there are many sales and special offers available all around. I have purchased new jerseys for as little as $25. If there are specific jerseys you are looking for just post them here and I will take a quick look for them. Happy to be of help, because financial misery loves company, I remain That little old jersey collector Me
I've bought some knockoffs on eBay, but I had no idea that they were knockoffs when I bid on them. To a newbie, they can look pretty darn realistic, with the Nike or Adidas tags, and all. Inspired me to create a little website devoted to the topic: http://www.soccer-replica-jersey.com
Usually it would be Subside Sports. soccerbox.com or even soccerstore.com are good places to get official jerseys, The bigsoccer store when it was under kitbag had good shirts to choose from. Team stores would also be good though the shipping (for the European clubs) costs an arm and a leg compared to the other Euro sites. It's more reasonable for the MLS teams. ebay is notorious for putting bootleg merchandise so unless you're looking for that vintage USA WC 1994 jersey or and other old style shirt from way back the aforementioned sites are usually a better bet... as uhclem noted, sales are also a good way to add to a collection... 2 cents here... cheers!
I have bought replica jersey's from, Eurosport: www.soccer.com www.soccerplus.net www.worldsoccershop.com www.kitbag.com
If you are patient, I recommend waiting for games with charity auctions, or club supporter charity auctions. The games with charity auctions often will see 40-50 jerseys and maybe a few thousand fans. While the crowd goes for the big names like Landon Donovan or the local heros, that often leaves jerseys you might want available for minimum bid. I wound up with three Wizards autographed authentic game worn jerseys - all long sleeves, including a Bo Oshoniyi GK shirt - for $160 from a charity game two years ago. Considering the GK jersey isn't commercially available and the other two jerseys short sleeve cousins retail for $79, I think I did alright. Just food for thought.
Galyans in Long Island only carries soccer training apparrel by Adidas and Nike, no pro team jerseys.
One of my friends recommended: www.kitoutlet.com He said they offer the felt badges and numbers and the prices are very good. If the kits are quality, the prices are phenomenal. Not the biggest selection of all time though....
Haven't bought from them, but premiershirts.net has an extensive selection of sort-of-vintage kits (and a very entertaining hall of shame!).
According to people who've bought from them on here (me included), do an investigation into Kitbag before you purchase anything from them.
Remind me to kick my friend's ass on Saturday morning. Thailand store. Wish I'd known that before. Got an England away kit that's probably from some sweatshop knitted together by a 4 year old. The name and number look spraypainted with a gel-like substance... They didn't even bother to try and put the name and number I requested on the Celtic kit. I was looking forward to my #7 Jinky on the back too! Ripped off!
Wow, nice to know. What's up with these places and their size selections? It seems like for a cheap jersey, you can only find XL--probably because they're fake and it's easier just to make one size, but still.
Didn't say 'one size fits all,' I was just guessing that they only make one size of each jersey so they can save money.
I've bought 2 jerseys from Kitbag (Spurs and Blackburn Rovers) and have not had any problems with them. But my advice would be to wait until they are on sale because the shipping charges from England can be expensive. Otherwise if you know of a friend that is going to Europe ask if they would be able to get you one. That's how I got my Man U, Celtic, and 1860 Munich jerseys.
What happenned to Gimako? They don't appear to have the forgeries on their site anymore. Did they get busted?
Subside has almost every jersey a person could ever want (www.subside.co.uk), Kitbag has a fairly good selection at good prices (www.kitbag.com), MM Sport has a decent selection, but you can often get good sales (www.mmsports.com), Eurosport in the states has a limited selection (www.soccer.com).
Just to let you know there's a new player in town for official soccer jerseys, it's www.uksoccershop.com and we offer worldwide shipping
In very short order, say one week, there will be a grand new place to buy the world's best jerseys with fast affordable shipping and huge stock. Hmm, where could that place be?
