The title pretty much says it all. It's a disgrace that I can't at any time purchase a Canadian jersey. Look at the CSA website too; it's an absolute joke when compared to our American counterparts. I can go on the US site and purchase all things US soccer related with no issue whatsoever. I've literally scoured about 100 websites across the globe looking for 2007-08 kits. It's impossible. I'm absolutely furious!
They're around, I passed one in a small shopping centre last night, in the building across from Islington station. Most shops that specialise in soccer will carry them. There's a shop at the corner of Dundas and Dufferin that has every strip known to humanity but they have pretty inconvenient hours. I think I've seen them in the small sports shops on Yonge north of Dundas as well. Stay away from National Sports and SportChek. The former is useless at anything that's not hockey, the latter is just plain useless.
At the Euro, I see plenty of Russian Hockey jerseys. I think a red hockey jersey would be acceptable, it's part of our stereotype.
I went to Sportchek and found soccer jerseys for spain, italy, france, germany and brasil. None for Canada..so I bought a red addidas soccer shirt and I just pretend.
You can buy the current Red MNT Jersey at the Adidas Flagship Store in Toronto that just opened in Dundas Square (under Futureshop). I picked mine up today. They don't carry the current White Canada Jersey however. They also have all the other offical Euro teams for Adidas
Yeah I got one downtown Montreal for $99.99 at Pro Sports on St. Catherine's. Sure I could find one cheaper but I was tired of looking around.
For those of you in the GTA and somewhat beyond, I was at Stouffville Flea Market, north of Toronto, the other day and the sports store there carried more Canadian national team shirts than I've seen in any store in my life. Both red and white and in most sizes.
You're serious, in Toronto? They seem to litter every soccer and sports shop in Vancouver. A new CSA symbol, and some more imaginative strips would be nice though. TFC looks like a more official Team Canada shirt .
I finally found a store that had a few of the new Canada kits. I walked into sport chek and found a small, I asked if they had any larges and they said they did but didn't know where they were. They looked in their system and told me that no other Sportchek's carried the new kits, but I looked around the store and found the large I was looking for.
