LOL Suarez simply cannot live a simple life can he ... ? A university in the Italian city of Perugia has said it followed “correct procedures” after authorities announced an investigation into whether it helped the Barcelona striker Luis Suárez cheat in an Italian language exam. The Uruguayan sat the exam last week at the University for Foreigners. It is a requirement for his Italian citizenship application, which would give him a European passport that could help him to transfer to a new club.
I'm probably missing something obvious, but does every Serie A player need to be an Italian citizen? Would an EU country citizenship not be enough? And if so why jump through hoops to become literate in Italian when he could apply for Spanish citizenship, which requires a version of his native language?
guardian the Fiver: the last genuine Italian to come out of Suárez’s mouth was Giorgio Chiellini in 2014.
He’s not eligible for Spanish citizenship whereas he is eligible for Italian through grandparents or something.
Jordon Ibe has apparently been battling depression, that could explain how he never lived up to his potential. Hopefully he can revive his career with Derby.
not to be mean - and I'm saying right now this is speculation on my end - but when did his depression start? After he struggled to make an impact at Bournemouth and then was benched?
Depression is no joking matter. I know of kids who outwardly seemed to have everything going for them but suffered severe depression from their teens onward.
nope. I'm wondering if when things were good here at liverpool he was able to cope or fight through it, but at bournemouth when things went poorly on the pitch that he lost the one thing that was helping him get through it. hopefully he rediscovers the joy he had playing and it helps him with his struggles.
Quite possible - but it seems like football didn’t help: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...th-released-month.html?ico=amp_articleRelated In any event - I’m not sure if you are misapprehending my posts or something. I’m not in anyway saying he’s making this up - quite the opposite.
Not at all. Just that depression is a horrible beast and divining the kick-off point or the accelerators can be a fool's errand. And as we know, it also comes in a few guises - genetic, chemical, environmental/situational - and exhibits in a multitude of ways, all making it even more difficult to treat.
Ibe is a good example of a young man who came very close to the top levels of his chosen profession, but is regarded as having failed badly ... and in a very public way. the hopes and pressures on him from club, team mates, friends, relatives, ann of course fans (who as we know aren't known for the sensitive and forgiving nature).are something none of us can appreciate. I hope he does well.
Duncan moves to Derby. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...l-Fiorentina-just-year-leaving-Liverpool.html The youngster will initially go into Derby's under-23 squad and Derby's academy director Darren Wassall welcomed him to the club.
let's see how long it takes him to get po'd at Derby. Man City, us, Fiorentina.... if he messes up at Derby he'll be on the dole or at best getting trials at, say, Lincoln.
Sheffield United are now looking at signing former England striker Daniel Sturridge, 31, who is a free agent after leaving Trabzonspor in March.
unless his body has been able "reset" itself after so many problems, I doubt that he'd be able to stay fit for longer than a month or two. he could be very worthwhile to a Sheffield type team coming off the bench mind you. shame really, he's a hell of a gifted player.
Philippe Coutinho played for Barcelona on Sunday as a part of his I'm-only-here-to-get-Liverpool-the-last-4-million-pounds-on-my-transfer-deal tour. Nice of Phil to help us make the first year's payment on Diogo Jota.
What is the difference between Adam Bogdan and Hugo Lloris? Adam Bogdan is playing in the Champions League. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/ferencvaros-end-25-year-wait-to-reach-champions-league/
